Easy peasy finish

From JBW designs, Miss Mary's Sampler 1796

Yep.  Another lazy finish not involving a frame.  I left the bottom edge fringed because, let's get real, I will move this.
But for now, Miss Mary will stay on this very tall wooden wall box.  All I did was tear a piece of muslin to fit inside the folded edges because the black wood background was showing through the linen,
and then used this product across the top to attach.  It's very sticky but also removable.  So within 15 minutes of completing the final stitch, edges were pressed and she was up.

I made another error in color.  My cataract is quickly making my vision worse, and I had a difficult time between a solid square and a solid circle.  Instead of using the purple for the center's stems, the dark brown was used.  I like it and decided to keep it.

What's up next?  Honestly, I don't feel like stitching anything!  But I continue to plug away, fearing a break would be very long.

It has warmed a bit, Carole is not worse which is a good thing, I need to see an ortho doctor since my bicep and shoulder are not responding to treatment.  For days now I have not been able to leave the house.  I don't know if this is a virus or if the blueberries were perhaps a little tainted, but you would think that when food goes right through you, weight would be reduced, not gained!
Have a great weekend.

Thanks for visiting.

Marly not lazy, I call this creative finishing Framing is so very expensive these days. I was very current on framing once a piece was done I framed,. I feel behind now I would have to get a loan to do all the finishes I did not frame. Always looking other ways to display finishes. Hope your shoulder feels better soon .

Congrats on a lovely finish, Marly. I wish my finishes looked as good as your "lazy" ones.

Good news that Carole is holding her own.... If I could display my work as creatively as you do, Marly, I would rarely frame. Mary's Sampler is a real charmer
and thank you for the ProGlu suggestion. Can use all the help we can get. Just know
you will be picking up another beauty to keep you occupied. If the sun comes out
this weekend, get out and about outdoors.... good for the soul.

Miss Mary looks great on that wall box. I always love to see the way you display your pieces - and I think creative is a better word than lazy, because it's not put away in some box waiting!

So sorry your shoulder is not cooperating by getting better - hope the ortho has a good idea!

And it is 1/2 drive away!!! I will get the other eye done on Feb 7th.So the vision in my first eye is amazing...everything is so sharp and crystal clear! I highly recommend it. Pretty finish! Sorry you and your family are dealing with these health issues. It's bad this year, the flu and sickness.

While I can imagine that you do not want to even think about cataract surgery if the doctor has not recommended it, but maybe it is time. I was having some much difficulty just trying to read the computer screen while monitoring at my various sites that the doctor said it was time. I just dreaded the thought of the surgery, but had to bit the bullet. What a difference it has made in my life! I can read the computer screen without glasses though I do wear protective glasses that are supposed to reduce eye strain. I can watch TV without glasses. I do still need glasses for reading and for stitch, but just magnified readers. Everything is soooo bright that I wear sunglasses whenever I go outside. End of story, I should have had the surgery done sooner. I am stitching more and enjoying it more. Good luck with your on going health concerns. The weight is a never ending struggle. The important thing to remember is to keep moving.

Lovely finish, Marly--so you! Ugh, cataracts! So sorry you are dealing with the possibility of surgery. I hate anything eye related! Hope you get some answers from the orthopedic guy--sounds very painful :(
