I found this ???? and before I throw it out, does anyone know about it? Does it belong to a larger device? It has Yarn Winder in raised letters on both sides with lines and an open center that is immovable. Just thought I would check in case it's a part or an item someone would like to add to a vintage collection of .... ???? It makes no sense to me!

My Mom had one of these that she used to make pom poms.
If you are going to pitch it, I would like to have it.

No idea
Agree with Helen, a winder to make pom-poms...
Yes, a pom-pom maker. That's why there's a small channel at the edge: for your scissors.
I'm of no help on your mystery tool. Looking at your thumb--it looks painful--hope it is better
It could be for pom pom, but I am wondering if you could use to cut yarn for rug hooking. I know my mother had one but I have reached the age where I have forgotten more than I remember.

I thought it might be fro Pom-Poms also.

I have no idea what that gadget is. If you throw it away you'll probably want it in a week or two. That's what they say.
I hope your thumb is getting better. Neosporen is a wonderful healing cream and takes the pain away.
We're getting ready for 50+ mph winds today and snow on Sat. Mother Nature must be angry about something.
Have a good day.
