The red cape

Yep, the red cape I've been showing is for sale in MA.  You can click here to view it and the interior.  I enjoy browsing homes for sale online and taking a peek inside from the quaint to the elaborate.

We just came from getting my flowers, had to go with the Vista bubble gum again, couldn't find the fuchsia.  The Vista series colors are bubble gum, fuchsia, and silverbells (left), all great performers.  Next year the newest color, paradise, will debut.  I did find a full basket of the silverbells color and brought it home too.  Geraniums for the front buckets with a few vines.  That's it.  No pots and tubs and others this year.  And this time, I'm sticking to that decision.
With all the hammering going on I played it safe and removed everything on the walls, and am loving the look.  I've always liked sparse with the focus on mouldings and paint color.  The windows have a light beige primer (old windows were gray) and along with the light and bare walls, there is a calming effect. When the curtains are back, maybe that will change the mood completely.  But I think the samplers will need to find a new place to hang out.  I may be selling a few when I get more organized.

I did check with Habitat for Humanity and the closest store is quite a drive from here.  That one doesn't take windows nor will they drive this far for pickup.  The stores offer very good used items but they don't take everything, the items are sold (stores are independently owned) and proceeds go toward housing projects.  Wonderful organization.  Another location in PA about an hour from here will accept windows but only in excellent condition.  The effort and calls and emails to find a local organization willing to take used items has become a hassle, and I plan to use CraigsList's free section from now on.   Sam (our contractor) gave me the idea because his worker listed the cement blocks they removed from the restaurant and kept them from a landfill while helping a farmer build a pen.

Hope the week is going well.
Thanks for visiting.

Holy Crap. I only need two more people to go in with me and we can buy this place. Love the colors inside - light, airy but so warm and welcoming. Thanks for sharing. Good luck on your place....hope everything comes together quickly, knowing it seems to take FOREVER to do any type of remodeling.

Well I am not disappointed to hear you got Bubble Gum. ;) The Silver Bells are gorgeous!
Love checking out our local Habit for Humanity. Such cool stuff in there.
When we moved, we used Craig's List a lot. We had excellent success.

Oh how I love that house! It is great! I wonder how quickly I can pack & move. We can move our business. No problem! Love the flower. I haven't done much with flowers yet. We are still working on some of other yard work changes. Have a good day!

Craig's List sounds like the perfect solution then Marly. We were one of the early birds in a new subdivision here and I gotta say, the amount of materials going into the big dumpsters as houses are built would break your heart. I am told the building company does recycle but sometimes I wonder......

OMG!! If only I were rich!!! That house is beyond gorgeous! I love the simplicity of it....breathtaking! I plant Vinca's on the side of my garage every year in fuschia. They really do well and require little or no maintenance and they survive on very little water...but they do love sun. I haven't had the time to go out and play in my gardens yet....I'm hoping for next week...

Marly, you know how to pick them... It is 'drop dead' beautiful. What is there not to like? If I were 10 years younger & rich ... I'd consider it. I am not familiar with the Bubble Gum and The Silver Bells. We are still living in the desert... house has been listed again and will be moving closer to son Jeff and Cassie and our 3 youngest grandchildren. I can then think bout plants like yours.
Have a great day my friend with Peace and hugs , Barb

That is a completely beautiful house (said I, as if you had no idea) and I love the way it looks in that first picture.

Ha ha--I also browse through homes for sale on Zillow just to get decorating ideas :) That really is a lovely house... The Craig's List free section is wonderful. We just used it to get rid of a perfectly usable couch and loveseat--they were picked up at the curb within 45 minutes. Could we have sold them? Yes... but that is way too much hassle!
