Geez. I was a few minutes late posting the For SALE page, and I couldn't keep up with marking things as sold! Thank you so much. Makes me feel really good that after all this time, you still like the boxes. Thank you again!
Does anyone want to guess how the stitching is going? Anyone? ..... I heard someone shout "frustrating", give that gal a skein of floss! In my constant attitude of knowing it all, I did not pay attention to the chart. Usually the space between eyelet letters is two stitches, but these are only one. Thaaaaaaaat's right. One. Not four threads, two threads. Since I am not sure I will have enough of that color, I had to carefully remove the threads from those big ass letters, instead of my usual snip and pick. Do you have any idea how that irked me? Not only did I make the error because of cockiness, I had to be gentle!!
After viewing several Flosstube videos, I was reminded that just because I don't want any more little pillows or wall pieces, doesn't mean I can't stitch them. So many stitchers have a hoard of finishes resting in drawers, rolled in cloths, stashed in stitching bags. So if I see something that I think would be nice to stitch, it doesn't mean I have to honor it for life with a display. That's a freeing thought. And it doesn't have to be samplers and santas!!
Enjoy your weekend! I plan to sit outside and sweat.

Hi Marly, I would sit outside and sweat too but it was 105 degrees out there and I'm no fool! Not everything I stitch is an heirloom. Some designs are to just make me smile. If everything was precious, it would cost me a mint to frame them all. That would be burdensome and stitching should bring pleasure.
I just stitched a sunflower found on pinterest and made a pillow.......Love it.

Most of the things I make are because I make them out of love, not to display so you aren't alone there my friend.
And I've been there with you on removing stitches - done it too many times to remember.
Glad your sale was great - always a good feeling when others like our work isn't it?
Blessings

sometimes we create just for the process...but when it goes wonky...grrrr...one reason I loved hooking so much was the ease of removing/replacing errors in judgement...glad your sale was a success...
All the years I was working I made a pledge to myself...I will not WASTE evening time watching TV, Either DO something or cross stitch. Well, you guessed it, stitching won. When I retired to Texas in 2012 I had about 150 pieces of work that I had completed, but had not finished. I have slowly been finishing them and it is kinda fun see them completely done. I am enjoying giving them as gifts. I have sold them (for much less than they were worth) through the local Pioneer Museum too. My friends that appreciate stitching love to go thru my stash.
Yes, you don't have to display everything you stitch (just ask me!!). For me the joy is in the stitching and I don't really care if some of the things never get framed and on my walls.
So glad your sale was successful--people know amazing work when they see it :)
I am the world's best process stitcher. Proof is in my box of finished but unfinished projects. Has to be at least 30 in there. Enjoy the stitching. Stitch forever, finishing whenever!
