After reducing items in the hutch which started the it all.
Forty some paint samples throughout wall and trim, two curtain samples, and I like the bareness. Wayne made it feel closed in, mostly because of the dark color. Mark prefers the previous plain curtains, I'm leaning toward the woven tablecloth with fringe (gold) in natural/off white. The wood chandelier is going, but where? I want a simple black iron to match the hinges on the hutch.
Thought dark wood beams would go well with all light trim and walls, but not sure since the room is so small. Also haven't decided if a simple wainscot will be too much, but the carpenter thinks it would be a good idea to match the shaker profile of the built in hutch on the walls. We'll see.

I'm still chuckling over your chiropractor not knowing wainscoting. lol! Sounds like you are going well with your plans.
I prefer the tied back curtain. The room looks beautiful with the lighter colors.
Love the direction you are going! I also like the lighter curtain. Consider just a very simple narrow band of braid or a decorated ribbon that has both your blue and gold in it. Just added to the side that pulls back. That little change would bring your colors together. I have gold and black in my breakfast room, it has always been a favorite with me. Yes, definitely on the light fixture too. All black or blackened bronze over the table is good. Having fun watching your remodel. Oh the decisions!

Too bare for me. Love the wainscoting and beams would be perfect. Needs a rug under the table. But that is just me. Otherwise I love this room with the windows.
