Another example

of what schools are teaching today's youth.  There was a halftime show from Forest Hill high school that featured students with toy guns (which you get kicked out of school for) pretending to shoot cops.  They were the visiting team at Brookhaven, where two officers were shot and killed a week before.  A Facebook post asking parents/others to send an email to the superintendent of this school, was of course removed, according to Newsweek's site.

Claiming that this was based on the movie "John Q." is ludicrous.  There is no reason to act out an old movie on the field, and it's never OK for a school to put guns in kid's hands TOY OR NOT.  And then to pretend to use them!!  I thought schools and teachers rally for gun control, or maybe it's OK if used against someone you disagree with.

OMG- Seriously?? how could anyone believe this would be an appropriate skit in today's world? this is the ultimate in bad decision, bad taste, and in my opinion, a termination should be immediate for whomever was responsible.
on another note, regarding your previous post: Marly, i think your white mums with the white chair and table are a stunning and beautiful statement against the dark house. love it!

This is wrong on so many different levels and should not be condoned at all.

I strongly believe that there is an undercurrent in American culture that has orchestrated this and other situations which are designed to collapse our country. Too depressing to think about.

So sorry for your situation with craftsmen. I understand. My younger son was always available to me for what ever I needed. Wow, was I spoiled. Really. He has since passed away. I did appreciate his contributions but not enough I think. Now I have to rely on older son who lives away to come or hire on someone. It is never what I want, what I expect in cost or in quality.....if they show at all. What are we to do?

The white against your house is very nice. You can always pick up the faux pumpkins at Joann's or whatever and spray paint the little buggers. I have been told there is a major shortage of the white pumpkins this year.

Unbelievable, can't believe the school allowed such a thing at a school function. ::sigh::

Tasteless and offensive...where were their Parents
and what are those youngsters being "educated" to accomplish?
Who ever had the "bright" idea should be dismissed. Pathetic
naivete, indeed.

Hope that band director is fired; wouldn't you think the students involved might have objected to such a performance, especially given the recent tragic events??

what in the heck? how on earth could any school condone this...appalling to say the least...

Your home is beautiful Marl and I love seeing all the changes you are making.
What that school did was wrong in so many ways and is an example of the shameful conduct of some school systems today.

I am speechless and that doesn't happen very often. How can the school justify doing this and teaching the children to do it. Where the hell are the parents??? This country is going down the drain a little more each day and this just proves it.

It's a scary country we're living in. And, it starts at the top!

I am disgusted. Totally wrong on all counts. Fire the teacher. Guns are bad.

So very wrong! Heads should roll.
One of these days I need to finally have my kitchen redone. 19 years ago when I moved in it was #1 on my list. Just thinking about finding someone to do the work makes my head spin. My son is an unbelievably skilled carpenter. Problem is, he and his tools are 2000 miles away. Darn!

Just wrong on many levels.

Read this earlier today and was left shaking my head. Such mixed messages we are sending our kids of today. Prayer is not allowed in schools but this???

I do love your country so much. But not so good things are happening there the last year. Such a shame, seems like people are putting against each other more and more. Hope this will change very soon but fear the most.

I just can't. This is just wrong.

Appalling! Who thought this was a good idea? Any adult who was involved in this should be looking for a new job!
