Hello people. Just came from a doc appt where I was lectured on continuing Eliquis even though my Afib is very brief and intermittent. But I learned something that may help others! As the nurse and I were discussing the severe headaches I had, she asked if I experienced a migraine. Nope. She asked if I know anyone that has. I believe several of you mentioned this. She proceeded to tell me her story of debilitating migraines five to eight times a month for years, the drugs including extended release Topamax, injections, Botox, and others that had no real effect. Her own research discovered a piercing called "daith". Her doctor poo-poo'd this as nonsense and continued prescribing drugs. What did she have to lose? $40. That's all, compared to the thousands for meds over the years. So she located a certified licensed piercer, and had this done. She has had only three migraines in one year and this was done two years ago. It may not work for everyone, but it certainly did for her. If interested, check for a licensed piercer, probably at a tattoo parlor, not just anyone, and consider it. There is more discomfort with this than other piercing because of the nerve endings in this area of cartilage. You can Google "daith" and read articles for yourself, but don't be discouraged if a doctor dismisses it.
This is hers. She choose a hoop but it can also be a stud. She went from considering disability, to a full life. Personally, I like the look! Hope this may help someone that is not getting relief from medications.

doctors don't know everything. I should know with my Sinus Node not working in my heart I needed a pace maker but it wasn't until shoulder surgery that the doctor found out just what was wrong with me. No pills can help this problem. I wish more doctors would listen to their patients and not prescrube drugs. Half the time drugs don't work. Hugs
Doctors don't know everything today and they like to give you drugs because they get money. And with these alternative methods they don't.
It did help me from recovering from Lime disease. This treatment will some poeple cure others have to search for something else.
But my doctor was laughing about this treatment it did helped me a lot.
Enjoyed your stitching-love your colors you have used.

I have a friend who had this done and she swears by it! It's cute too!!
Thankfully I'm not plagued by migraines, but if an alternative treatment may possibly work, I say go for it as long as it won't harm you. Meds are so over prescribed. I hope this info can help some sufferers.
Marly you have me thinking. As you know, I have been suffering debilitating, excruciating migraines every, single day for almost three years now. Ever since that steroid shot in my neck. I have tried so many therapies and drugs. I do have it mostly under control with a LOT of medication. Only thing is, I really don't find it appealing, BUT.... I will think about it. Thank you so much my friend for caring enough to go the extra mile to post this for people like me. Really.
This is amazing - thanks so much for posting about it. There's someone at work who is often out with horrible migraines and is on a lot of meds for them - I'll tell her about this as soon as I get back!
Hi Marly,
My friend's granddaughter had this done and her life has improved so much!! So happy it works for her and your friend!! I'm sure it will help others, too!! Thanks for sharing!!!
Hope you enjoy your weekend!
Heart Hugs~

Bless you for the Marly-aid....so many may benefit from your
suggestion and as others have mentioned, pharmaceuticals don't
always work or can do harm. We need more effective alternatives...
Hello Dear Sweet Marly.... I do hope you were sitting down when you saw that I posted a comment....I know it’s been forever and there are no excuses...just nothing much fun/good going on these days...and someone said if you haven’t anything good to blog, don’t blog at all (??? Ok...maybe no one ever said that, but I did just now LOL). Anyways, I have been missing my blog pals more than ever and toying with the idea of dipping my toes back in the water (just when, it seems, many are done swimming). And, I just happen to have spent the past week “finishing” (and I mean actually FINISHING) several little tucks and pinkeeps I had left unfinished way too long....pouring over a message from you with instructions, and while staring at this pile of “finishes ala Marly” you were naturally on my mind more than ever...so, here I am. I hope things have been well in your world... I miss the dickens outta ya Chica and hope you know I think of you often... Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin (PS...interesting info on the migraines... I am all about alternatives...I, personally, don’t have an issue with them (thankfully), but my husband recently has developed an issue with them I guess. Unfortunately I just can’t wrap my head around him with an earring like that LOL)....
Luckily, I do not suffer from migraines often, but I still read this post with interest.
If such a piercing helps - depending on the person - then some are helped with something simple. And such a ring looks pretty pretty too.
Greetings Martina
Thank you, Marly. Very interesting and good to hear of someone who has found relief with a daith piercing. I have had lifelong migraines and have tried everything with no lasting relief. Perhaps this is worth a try.
Hi Marly,
Thanks for sharing this info, which I will definitely look into! I’ve suffered with migraines for 30-something years. I currently take topimax every day, and while it helps somewhat, I will still get headaches, and migraines from time to time. I’m all for alternate treatments, and this sounds interesting... and it’s pretty besides!
