Clap on

Clap off.  The Clapper!  Remember that commercial?  Well being in the dark about most products, I did not realize there is another item named clapper.  I found it while browsing You Tube for a project and proceeded to several sites in search of.  Ordered Riley Blake's models in both sizes from The Fat Quarter Shop because their shipping was less.  So I am now the proud owner of two blocks of wood, 7" and 12".  If you're not familiar with these blocks, they are used by tailors and quilters to press seams flat.  You steam the seam or pant leg crease, then apply the wooden block for 10 seconds.  The wood absorbs the heat and moisture from the steam allowing the fabric to develop a crispy flatness!  Who knew?

And I have a bargain for you from Michael's.  You can order online and pick up in store or have your order shipped and receive 30% off all regular prices.  So I ordered my floss and got them for 39 cents, ready for pick up at the Ohio store.  You don't get the % off in store, and my order is paid for and ready at the service desk.  Wowee!  No bending over and trying to see the numbers on those fricking little labels.
Promo code is 30May19W until June 1.

Met Carole in the ER this morning and brought her home around 2:00.  The booster diuretic although low dose, is a nasty little pill (metolazone) that causes extreme weakness and also diarrhea which dehydrates you further.  They checked her out and told her to go home and rest, keep drinking fluids, and stay out of the hospital.  The ER docs are not hospital employees but from a group, and do not encourage you to stay because of infection risks.  So she's napping and I'm relaxing.  It's just too bad I came home and scarfed down 4 Dove darks and a cookie.  Such is life.

Have a good day!

I'm glad Carole is home and resting. You deserve those chocolates! I just had 5 Hershey Kisses with almonds and didn't even do anything to deserve them :) The older I get, the more addicted to chocolate I become...

Thanks for the heads up on the Michael's coupons--that is a real time (and money!) saver. Off to place an order!

I remember the commercial, but never heard of a quilter's clapper 🤣 I learn so much from you.
Hoping Carol feels better soon.

Would those clappers be useful getting wrinkles and folds OUT of linen? Do you mind trying and letting us know in a future post?
Glad Carole is resting at home and that you are enjoying chocolate.

I always seem to scarf down food I don't need when I am stressed. I had seen those clappers before, but never knew what they were really for. I hope you find them useful.

Well, I guess a quilter’s clapper is better than quilter’s clap...or a quilter’s crapper LOL. (Sorry...couldn’t help myself.). Glad Carole is resting...hope she recovers quickly....doesn’t sound like fun. I wish I could limit my chocolate...or any type of intake. It seems that this awful weather has tricked my body into thinking it has to fatten up again for winter or something. Yikes. ~Robin~

Thank you for the info about buying floss on line from Michaels. Will do that !
Glad Carole is resting and hope she'll improve with the new pill.
My go to treat has been ice cream.........Butter pecan to be exact. Love it.
Your "tunias" are beautiful. I don't have any but am enjoying lots of summer chrysanthemums and coral bell.
Am cross stitching some Halloween pieces. Want to have a small tree in October.
Can't believe how fast this year is flying by.
Beautiful kitty you have there.

Hi Marly,
I always use my 30% off coupon at Michael's to load up on floss and we carry a lot so it works for me, but I have thought about doing the online ordering as well!! I have also watched for the 40% off at JoAnn's and have really saved that way, too! LOVE those coupons!!!!
So happy to hear Carole is resting and hope she will get some relief with the meds!
Such a lovely photo of one of your "brat cats", too! Is it Missy?
Glad you got a little reward of chocolate!!
Oh, and that Clapper is really interesting!! I also wondered if it would work to take out stubborn creases on linen and other fabrics! Please keep us posted!!
Thanks, Marly, and have a great weekend!!!
Heart Hugs~

Glad Carole is out of the hospital.
