If loving him is wrong,

I don't want to be right.  Before I start big girl Ann, the last Santa stitch will be repeated.  Two different linen colors and coats.  One Santa position will be reversed.  Can't help it.  I love this little guy!!

Using 35 count again to be the same size as the other, hoping to breeze through wearing 3.50 lenses without much difficulty.  If not, I will change linen count to something easier.

First on Dolphin with gold coat.

Then on Havana with blue.

When you're in love, you sometimes go overboard.  But they will be spaced out on the tree and not noticeably repetitive, especially because of the difference in fabric and coats.

Carole has been having trouble with her breathing and rather than listen to me, she has held off visiting Urgent Care or the ER for her congestive heart failure.  This started Friday.  The great grands come every Sunday and to feed and sugar load them is more important.  Her lungs can fill so quickly, but when it comes to the little ones, she is maddeningly unreasonable.  So instead of an IV Lasix and home to rest, she will end up being admitted and I will spend two days at the hospital again.  She's calling the doc today, now that the kids are gone from Grandma's Toy Land, and they took home pulled pork sandwiches, pasta and meatballs, cheesecake and cookies, because no one stops playing long enough to eat.  Drives me nuts.

Enjoy your Monday!

I don't think anyone will notice the nearly identical Santas, not with facing different directions and different colors. And if anyone did - your tree, your ornaments, your way!

Bummer on Carole's condition. I know you've said that her family isn't up to (can't be bothered to ?) caring for her, BUT (knew that was coming, didn't you?) it seems to me it's way past high time they start pulling their heads out of their where-ever and start. Especially with your own health issues needing attention. Better they start now during a shorter stay than a full blown emergency where she needs the care for weeks. Or longer. If they don't, Carole's really going to be up the creek without a raft or paddle, should you not be able to ride to the rescue as they've come to depend on.

All was said out of concern for you, not that I think you're doing wrong. If I've overstepped, I apologize, and feel free to tell me to keep my opinions confined to your stitching.

Marly, I am looking forward to seeing your different color versions of that Santa. Love the fabric and thread combinations you have pulled for the Jolly old Fella!

I am sorry to hear that Carole is feeling poorly again. I hope the hospital stay isn't too lengthy. Don't forget to take care of yourself during all this! Thinking of you!

stitching the littles is perfect! just enough to keep our heads and hearts in the game without putting too much stress or expectation on ourselves!

Don't think your Santas will compete for anything but a prize on the tree.. love your plan to reverse them in different colors. Sorry to hear about Carole, but more concerned about the toll you allow it to take on you. Gail said it well...time for others to step up and do their share and allow you to address your own health issues. Time off... Enjoy your renewed stitching.

Seeing your red PS Santa certainly brings back memories, Marly! He was my "go-to" Santa to stitch for teacher gifts each Christmas when my sons were little--I must have stitched at least 15 of those through the years :) I got so many thank you's from their teachers saying how much they truly appreciated this handmade gift (I framed them in little wooden frames, too!). But, through all that I never made one for myself! I love your idea of stitching him in different colors--the possibilities are endless.

Sorry to hear about Carole's health issues--as if you didn't have enough on your plate! Good luck ♥

I think your idea of Santas with coats of many colors is brilliant Marly...and I think they will be amazing on your tree. For some reason, my brain likes the idea of things that match, but don’t....ya know what I mean. So very sorry to hear of Carole’s health issues once again, and sorrier still that she allows her unreasonableness (and her family’s irresponsibility) to effect you. And I know that the physical part of what it does to you is just one part....the emotional drain that the worry I know you experience is another. SMH. ~Robin~

Marly: Your Santa is precious, I love him with the tree in his hand.
I have many friends who are grandmas, they have a hard time saying no to the grandchildren, I hope Carole get to the ER and gets that fluid off her lungs.
You do so much for her, you are a sweetheart.

You always give such great ideas....the same wonderful Santa with different color coats. I love that idea and it may be on my TO DO list. Hope all goes well with Carole and the hospital stay is not necessary. Enjoy this holiday weekend.

Boy you are good with color changes. It's a real creative gift you have and something I struggle with.

Very sorry to hear about Carole and hoping she's starting to feel better by now?

Love that Santa - no wonder you want to stitch his twins.
