Hi stitching buds. Everyone OK? JULY!!! Damn.
When using two threads I have always threaded the needle by inserting the two ends into the eye, leaving a loop at the end. So easy to secure the first stitch using that loop method. But since I'm having issues with the two threads being uneven, I decided to try a reader's suggestion. Her method is to insert the end of only one thread through the eye, and the two ends would need to be secured rather than using the loop. But this allows the needle to tug on the thread evenly and the wonky stitches now lay flat. The only downside for me is not being able to slip the needle off the thread when using it to frog or pull an short end through for one more stitch. The other benefit of this method is not ever losing your needle!! It's attached so the needle cannot slip off when setting your project down. So I'm continuing on with this method even though I miss using the loop to start.
And that's all I have. I was stitching last evening and when I turned my head to view the chart, the vertigo hit and hit harder than it has been. I could not even walk. So I am very drowsy and lightheaded from meclizine and trying not to move much. Carole had to reschedule her tests until late July because Mark had a commitment and I could not take the chance of it hitting while driving (the car or her wheelchair). I need to limit computer and stitching time this weekend and I hope the situation will end soon. The Epley maneuver usually works for people, but if it doesn't, I may end up making this last even longer. I would much rather endure pain than this feeling and nausea.
Hope you have a great weekend as we usher out the cold and wet month of June. The heat and sun have finally arrived, we'll have a week in the 80's.
Thanks for visiting.

I had terrible episodes of vertigo some years ago and my GP found out that I had inner ear congestion and prescribed of all things, nasal drops. They worked a treat, so it might be worth getting your ears checked out. Belated birthday wishes too. Mine is 12th June '51 so we are not that different in ages I don't think.
Take care and feel better soon! Have your husband buy and cut up a watermelon for you!
Hope you are feeling better soon, I can’t believe all you get done. Love your home and your stories!
I had one session of vertigo, and that was enough!! The maneuver thing and no sudden moves for a few days worked. I so sorry to hear it's not working for you. You've got way too much happening without adding vertigo!
I know some say the back of our work should be as neat as the front, others say as long as nothing shows through when finished (like great lumpy knots or carrying dark colors of thread too far on light/thin fabric) it's good. I can't imagine that a single knot tying the 2 ends together and then using your loop start would be such a crime against needlework. If the tails bother you, you could pull them under or stitch over them, couldn't you? Or am I missing something?
suffered from horrible vertigo--my chiropractor took care of it
Darn! Hope the vertigo eases quickly.
I hate vertigo. :( Sorry you are suffering from it so much. That's clever with your new method. Too bad one can't have a loop at both ends. Ah well.
I have vertigo at times. It is not as bad as some, just annoying. I have to be careful when walking...the Epley maneuver does not work on me, it just makes me throw up, so if that was the goal it would work a treat!
I have dry mouth too, though not nearly as bad as yours. When I start keveching about it, I think of you and how much you have to deal with and and shut my pie hole.
Hope your summer warms up, wish I could send you some sunshine!

Hope you feel better soon. Thank you and your reader for sharing a new way to thread floss.
You might want to check out Theresa Venette's You Tube videos, Kitten Stitcher. She has on numerous occasions discussed samplers. I cannot recall if she has ever gone into detail about the pricing. I have to admit that I am a bit behind in You Tube viewing now it is summer. Hope you are feeling better soon. You should be able to Epley maneuvers yourself. My husband has had vertigo that had him to the ER a year ago March. The primary gave him a sheet on the maneuvers for future reference.
I always use the secured needle method, it works so perfectly for me too. So glad that it helps.
