Something happened in the last month to Carole's replaced knee and it got much worse today. It is unstable, painful, and certainly a problem. The cement could have loosened, an infection could be brewing, her femur could be cracked, and the list goes on. There is no way with her weak heart that a revision surgery could be done, even with a spinal. I get tired of giving instructions of who and when to call, what to set up, and what to ask for. Why doesn't anyone think for themselves and know what should be done? Mark said I know it all but that's no reason. So tomorrow morning after my ultrasound, I may need to change my haircut time and get her to the xray. Almost afraid to get too much cut since the thinning is so noticeable. McD iced coffee on the way home.
As for stitching, I am taking advantage of times when the hand is working and pain is less, but still want to learn the left. I've seen a few smalls that I would like to do, good projects to try it out. This sampler is too large with all the hanging linen and would make it more difficult.

I do like all the whites out this year, and this one on Hayneedle really caught my eye. Gorgeous!!
Christmas will be quicker this year since Thanksgiving is late. So many early sales it's hard to keep up, and lots of items (including a few trees I tried to order) are already out of stock. Oh well. I don't have a lot of gifts to buy anyway.
Hope your week started great!

I hate that Thanksgiving is so late and it cracks me up that Black Friday sales have been going on for weeks.
So sorry to hear about Carole's knee :(
Marly: I hope Carole's problem is a minor one.
I hope your test comes out the way you want it too.
I am sure after you try doing the stitching with your other hand you will be able to stitch that way.
Have you tried the hand gloves? some people I know with RA love their glove.
Beautiful trees, I remember my mother making a ceramic one years ago.
Have a wonderful week.
Catherine
Sorry about Carole's knee. I hope xrays will prove that it's not too much of a problem.
For some reason, my right knee is hurting, also my right hip and down the front of my right leg. I DON'T need this happening now or ever.
Have one tree up and lights on. It's my $5.00 after Christmas 2018 purchase. 6 ft tall, nice shape and I can lift it with one hand. Have several smaller ones that may get put out after Thanksgiving, depending on the knee.
I found my little ceramic tree from years ago and am going to put that in a special spot. Am using decor that has some history and heartfelt meaning this year. Am using my special (to me) Dept. 56 houses that I've had for years. Some in memory of my Dad........chowder house, lighthouse, Captain's cottage and the fish cannery. Some are Jill's favorite.....several of the City pieces. I also have (given as a gift) the original pieces. Have some Gingerbread pieces that will go in my kitchen. These pieces will stay up all year.
Will keep you and Carole in my thoughts and prayers. Give Petey an extra treat for me.
Hugs,
Charlotte in Va.
Have taken so much stuff to consignment and feel a big relief that it's gone and it put some $$$$ in my pocket.
You AND Carole are in my prayers.
Sending prayers to Carole. I have a ceramic tree with lights but it is white. It belonged to my mother in law. My sister in law grabbed up the green one with lights.
I hope nothing too serious about Carole's knee. You sure don't need that added to your plate.
I keep thinking I should haul some decorations out, but... meh. It's been too cold to go to the attic. We have a ceramic tree, with birds that go in the holes. I'm not sure if I like it or not. So much holiday decorating items in the attic that should be hauled of to somewhere.
So sorry to hear about Carole's knee. Praying for you both.
No decorations up here yet, but lots of people around town already have theirs done. We don't get our tree until the Friday after Thanksgiving, so that's what I'm waiting for.
We had a relative that did ceramics (in the 80's) and she had made 3 of those ceramic trees... I only know where one of them is... and always smile when I see one (childhood memories) in thrift/antique stores! I kinda wish the ceramic craze would come back again? ;-)
I do like that white Christmas tree too...a tabletop one would be "just right"...
Prayers to you and Carole...
