A quiet Christmas

In more ways than one.

Mark's gift - his wife's throat and breathless cough took her voice away.  A little huff of air is all that's heard, music to his ears.

Carole's gift - her sister was not present to witness the overload of unnecessary gifts to the great grands and throw eye daggers followed by a speech in the kitchen.

Ron's gift - his sister was unable to have the Eve and Day dinners so his generous neighbor brought pasta, ham, stuffed cabbage, roast beef, salads, potatoes, cookies, and pie to his door.

Chris's gift - no consequence to his aunt not being able to visit, he previously tried on his new Sketchers for fit and received his gift early.

Petey has been a good boy, except for today.  For some reason, he went after Nitzy from behind.  This poor boy is now staying by the back door and this is the view from our kitchen window.  I still can't approach any closer than about six feet, but he is hanging close and looking for us most of the day.  He came here well fed, does not hunt, couldn't have been on his own for long.  Big boy isn't he?

I won't be hitting any sales or enjoying this warm weather for the next few days.  I need a new laptop and I will probably spend some time shopping online again, and some stitching too between naps.

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, great cookies, and lots of hugs.  But keep those hand sanitizers handy!!  This is a virus, it's spreads, and it's not fun.

Thanks for visiting!

Marly , hope you feel better soon. Christmas comes when we are ready or not. Sounds like everyone did just fine and you hopefully get some time to yourself. Sweet Petey is so sweet, all your furrballs are. It would be nice if he was more approachable and could have vet scan for a chip since he does look like he had a home before. Give him some more time, he is getting closer. My babies took 6 months to settle. Merry Christmas and I hope this New Year is better for all. Love your blog so don't stop it!

Good morning on the day after Christmas, 2019.
Our day was very quiet also. Had nice dinner on the "Eve" and left overs yesterday.
I sure do hope you'll be feeling better very soon.
I also hope that all kitties involved will come to get along with each other. I know that would help you to feel better. You're doing all you can.
Take care. Prayers for good health in your days to come.

Are the new meds helping? Are you able to get the picture of Petey out to local veterinary offices? I am praying for you!

I hope you start feeling better from this virus soon! Not fun at any time, but worse during a holiday. On the other hand, sometimes a nice quiet day away from all the sound and noise of excess and being expected to do so much is wonderful.

Even the cats we had for 10 years together occasionally got into "discussions" about who was top cat. So funny sometimes - after a bit of wrestling, Leroy would tower over one of the others, then stalk off. The girls would invariably wait until he was a couple feet away, then take a running leap pounce and scamper off before he could respond.

I think I need to put small sanitizer bottles or wipes on my shopping list...

Marly: I hope things are getting better for you.
I hate when people buy lots and lots of gifts, it make the rest of us feel like we did not buy enough, oh well it is what it is.
I did eat a lot gained 7 pounds have taken off 5 already today, too many cookies and goodies.
I am wondering if that cat was abused by its previous owner and that is why he is not trusting
anyone, maybe someday he will come close to you, I had to talk almost a whisper when we had Verne, he finally came around.

I wish you a very Merry Christmas and Happy new Year

So sorry you were sick for Christmas. Not fun at all. :( DD is sick but supposedly at the tail end of whatever it is. Hopefully the rest of us won't catch it. Petey is sure fat and healthy looking! Hope he is a good boy for you and doesn't cause more trouble.

Hoping you will be feeling much better in short order. A blessing virus in a way … you did not have to deal with the Christmas overload and the world discovered it could go on without you...although you probably knocked yourself out getting them prepared for the holiday. I think Petey is on his way to friending you....he obviously knows who it is who cares for him and appreciates it. Were the others not
there, he'd probably already be on your lap.... Have a blessed and restful week of
relaxation and stitching.
