Variegation

in red.  From pink to orange to peach to maroon and back.  Sometimes you get a skein of floss that is all over the place.  Very light to way too dark to a hue that isn't close to the main color.  This skein appeared very uniform along the lengths with slight variegation, but baby look at it stitched!  Much more than I expected which is fine with me, just surprised.

If in the end I'm not happy with some peachy areas, I will very lightly dab with my barely touched brush from my Sepia Ranger ink pad. Yes I will.  Do it all the time.  It doesn't change the color, just tones it down slightly.  But I think this will be just peachy keen.

Be careful!

Oh that house is amazing... And you don't have to tell me about weird and radical variations... I do like the look for the most part...unless, as you know, there is variation and variegation from skein to skein of the variegated floss LOL. I have to confess that my range of extremes has made me thrown caution to the wind: Usually when working with particularly variegated floss I do not double a single strand of floss to make two threads when stitching 2 over 2...I take two separate strands and put them together...but I gave up and said what the heck in my current project....at least I will have the luxury of not having to bury the starting threads and that always makes me feel like I am getting away with something. ;-).

I use a diluted walnut dye to dab on my hooked rug sections which are too bright. Your sampler looks beautiful

I love your house. The red variation really reminds me of brick. It DOES have many degrees of shade change. I do really like it! Bravo.

Marly: I truly like the way it looks, like bricks and the shadows from clouds making it look beautiful.

Hi Marly,
I just LOVE HOUSES and this one is truly beautiful and really looks like an old brick house with its different shades!! Of course, I totally understand how it can actually look different in person, so by all means, do what will make you happy!! I love to age things so I understand that and do it, too!!!
Hope you and your family are all safe and well!!!
