Edited - Just got a call at 9:45. They are rushing her to Cleveland Clinic. Won't know more until morning but they feel surgery is necessary now. She told the doctor she would not live through a surgery, and he said you won't live much longer without it. I will keep you posted but won't have my laptop with me, and will probably be outside in the car anyway. One visitor is allowed briefly after surgery.

I appreciate your prayers and best wishes. We have an answer. She did not have a stroke. Her carotid artery has a blockage that is very high and too close to the brain for treatment here. That is what's causing the visual and speech disturbances. The doctor recommended seeing a vascular surgeon at Cleveland Clinic, but she is not a candidate for any type of surgery because of her heart failure. She already takes the drugs recommended for this condition so tomorrow morning she will discuss options with her long time family doctor. It is very serious as blood flow becomes more restricted to the brain. Maybe her heart doctor in Cleveland can relay the tests to the vascular department and see if any treatment would be feasible.

As I sat outside waiting for a call, I admired the flowers and thought I would show you how well the bargains are doing. This three Vista petunia has already been trimmed back in the center, it's very large, $18!
This Vista Silverberry has also been trimmed, almost doubled from two weeks ago, $13! The nurse with my doctor went there after I gave her directions and bought 18 baskets.
My peonies are starting, and the hydrangeas aren't quite ripe enough for the deer. But soon, they will be chomped down to fence height.
As I sat on the swing, I of course had to take the M&M challenge and yes, they do melt in your hand. But didn't on the back of the latest issue of Primitive Place. Please don't think this is all I had. I just set them down to run into the house after downing an iced coffee. And run I did. Stitches removed, toes are still bandaged for two more weeks, but less bulk than before so I can run when necessary (always after coffee - hot or cold!)
Guess what color the light threads ended up being on Hickling. 3865. Even the 3866 which is quite light was not enough for me. Except for pure white, there is nothing lighter. Thank you Mary for your floss gift!
I'm still not completely sold but it's better. You can see how nondescript the lighter thread is in the last floral of the border which hasn't been changed yet. The first bird at the top is the light blue that was A & B, which are now changed to a darker shade.
And if you want to see my hair before treatment, here it is. I will let you know if it's helping in a month, before the second treatment. Nice huh?
Have a good day folks.
Stay safe.
And thank you again.
And thank you again.

Marly, glad Carole didn't have an actual stroke. Maybe they can figure a way to treat this medically. Flowers and sampler are awesomely great. Glad your back dancing on your feet, fingers crossed for the hair. Hang in there! Jennifer
Oh my gosh, such a turn of events, hoping and praying for the best. Your flowers and yard are just beautiful, and after seeing the picture of your hair and scalp I am feeling so much worse about mine (compared to me you have a lions mane). Sending good thoughts your way.
Marly, such a frightening situation for Carole and so frustrating for you not to be able to be with her. Prayers for both of you.
Your yard and flowers are so beautiful and peaceful. Peonies are one of my favorites but way too hot for them to survive the Texas heat. Yours are outstanding- I love the color!
Stay strong and be certain to take care of yourself as well.
Marly, I'm so sorry to see your news. I'll be praying for Carole, you and your family. Take Care....Cherie in WI
Sending prayers for Carole and you and hope there will be a solution for Carole.
Beautiful flowers you have bought and your peonies are lovely.
Mine are already down after the warm weather we had here the last week and without rain for months.
Take care and sending a big hug.
Greetings, Truus from Holland
Keeping you and Carole in my thoughts, hang in there.

Prayers for you and your family. Your flowers and stitching look great. Your garden seems peaceful and full of eye candy.
Oh, dear... such a scary situation for Carole and your whole family, Marly. I know The Cleveland Clinic is one of the best medical facilities in the country so I pray she will get the treatment/medication/advice and support that she needs. Keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers ❤️
Praying for Carole & your family, Marly. She is in the best place she can be at the Cleveland Clinic. I wish I could be there to give you a hug. Take care.
Praying for Carole and your family. I am sure she is in good hands at such a renowned facility. I understand the frustration of not being able to be at the hospital at this time. Take care of yourself.
Marly: I am so sad for you and your family, why does this crap happen to such nice people, this should be happening to the bad people in the world, so sorry that is how I really feel.
I do like the lighter colored thread it will make the design pop.
Your baskets are amazing, baskets like yours are 30.00 dollars here.
Keeping you all in my daily prayers.
Catherine
I will be praying for Carole and for you all. Hang in there.
Prayers going up for you and yours.
Thinking of Carole now and hoping for the best outcome.
Your flowers are gorgeous. I may need to check out what the Amish grow in their community (1.5 hours(?) away from us) for next year.
I'm glad it wasn't a stroke that Carole had, but the blockage is just as concerning, maybe more so?, if surgery is required. Will be keeping you and Carole in my thoughts.
Marly, I am praying for you and Carole. Take care. SAH

Praying for Carole, her doctors, nurses, and all attending her.
And praying for you and Mark - what a treasure you are for Carole!
Your flowers and yard are lovely - I have never had any luck with petunias.
Leslie from Texas
Continuing to pray for Carole along with her medical team. Continuing to pray for you and your husband as you navigate this trip to the hospital.
Ack Marly...so very sorry to read this news. Prayers for all going up...and sending healing thoughts. Your flowers are looking amazing... I shall not be tempted. ;-) I think I have peonies planted somewhere around... note to self to go look for them. Lost so many perrenials again this year, but very reluctant to go to a nursery to look for replacement because (1) I would struggle to get them planted and pay for the process in the days to follow and (2) I would be tempted by annuals I have sworn off LOL. Definitely like the change up in floss.... Fingers crossed on the hair treatment. I am so curious to hear how it goes. Do you know how quickly you may se results? Hugs & Prayers ~Robin~
Praying all is well with Carole.
Thinking of you, too.
I wish for you thick hair, peaceful cats, thin thighs, a mended foot, a quick recovery for Carole and.....chocolate.
Marly - thinking of Carole and you - holding healing thoughts and prayers.
I need something to help my hair too. It is getting so thin.
I hope the Cleveland Clinic comes up with a treatment that works.
Marly - Thinking of you and Carole with hugs and prayers. Cheryl
