Seeing the light

No I'm not.  The 738 and ivory are causing me much distress.  I don't like thread that melts into the linen to begin with, and I just can't distinguish between the two.  I'm coming up in the wrong hole, can't count the linen threads, can't tell if I finished crossing the stitch.  I'm giving in.

I need to assign a new color to those symbols but will still use ivory in some areas like the side border flowers.  But alpha, no.   I'll remove those light letters (third time) and decide what color to use tomorrow.  I had already replaced the 738 in the zig zag upper border, should have realized it wouldn't work in the body either.

Hope your weekend goes well.

I agree about the floss blending into the linen/Aida in my case.
Used a sparkly Aida to do an angel.......will never use that kind of material again.
Am finished but with many mistakes........no one will know but me.
Have a Happy Halloween and good weekend.

I also don't like threads blending in with the fabric so you aren't the only one out there, Marly! I would go a shade or two darker. Happy weekend!

The worse is when you don't notice until you have stitched a lot . I use mag / light I can then of course see the white. Then you take it off the hoop hold it up and eeeeekkkkk. I am doing a House of Hawk Run the fabric is mustardy ( is that a word?) I can hardly see the color of one house. I have frogged twice because of mistake. I am finally going to change the color! One of the Blackbird designers ( who?) said hold one strand of thread over fabric to check before you start stitching. I never learn do I? Happy Halloween if allowed in your state. Here in RI yes but rules, so not at our house!

Sorry you are having trouble. That color thing happens to me too. Sometimes I think the dyed threads just are so different than the designer had planned. Of course, it also happens with DMC.

It will be lovely with whatever color you choose!

I really do love the ivory...or whatever color that is on the border flowers, etc. They show up especially nicely in that second photo. But I agree on the alphabets.... Looking forward to your tweaks.... ~~Robin~~
