Happy mail

Partially.  This is only my second BBD book since I prefer reproduction samplers and ...... santas.  And I am thrilled with it, several projects I would like to stitch in addition to the repros included.  And Jean Donaldson will be a hoot.  Lots of interest in this sampler and the large print chart is appreciated.

But once again, I received linen the end of September that I really like so ordered more of the same, and squirrel balls, it ain't the same.  I really don't like to return but since it can't be dipped, I apologized profusely.

The only shop within an hour from me does not and will not order or carry hand dyed fabrics because she's been burned with inconsistent colors.

And in case you're wondering, this is a squirrel ball.  He is burying the nut balls in my barrels, pots, gravel, and leaving some out as a calling card, right under the nose of snoozing Petey.  He also left one at the back door.  Silly squirrel.

I don't have results yet, hopefully soon since my window for antibodies is closing.  Headache is back today along with coughing hard enough to be glad I used that coupon for extra panty liners.  Although fine yesterday and assumed the scare was over, I am feeling worse as this day progresses.

Wonderfully warm day.  Ruined a batch of almond bars, didn't go any further.  I was not coughing when I planned her birthday treats and can't proceed now.  When the surgery is over and she is back here in therapy, family is cleared to visit, we will have treats then.

Marly, I am praying for you. I hope you get those results soon! That is ridiculous!
I love BBD but don’t have Ooh La La. It looks like I may have to add to my stash!
Take care.....Cherie in WI

It's good that you are keeping busy and still have your wonderful sense of humor (coupon for extra panty liners :-)!!!). I find it so frustrating when the fabric that you previously ordered isn't the same as the original--oh, the woes of not having a local needlework shop!

I hope you get your results soon and if it is Covid, I pray that it is mild. Take good care now. ♥

Been keeping you and mark in my thoughts and prayers for quick easy cases of this mess. Please take care of yourself!
And I completely understand needing those panty liners and I’m just battling seasonal allergies. Last week I was helping Mark move a box to the garage and he asked why I stopped suddenly, I was sorry I had to explain to him that I needed to finish wetting myself before I could continue. After 34 years of marriage the romance has completely left us with no false illusions any longer.

Probably the best plan of all... You can combine it into a "welcome-out/we-survived-COVID/so-glad-we-made-it-through-this-sh$#" party - and what a celebration that will be! But tragedy about the almond bars...and sorry to read of the worsening symptoms. 10 days can be a very long time. I love the designs in Ooo La La too...only have completed one, but several others are earmarked... ~Robin~

It seems that your situation may be described as the perfect storm. I hope the weather pattern clears soon and you start to feel better. This whole business is really getting old and now we will be entering flu season, you just can't make this stuff up.

I have that pattern somewhere, I think I lent it out, probably never see it again. I have a bad habit of not keeping track of things.

Warm today and tomorrow, then whammo, Fall is here. I am not ready, what can you do?
I sure hope that things improve. TAke care.

Sending healing prayers for you both and hope the symptons will not be worse and it is just flu instead of covid.
This book is lovely and I think I will order that one too for future stitching.
Take care and a big hug,Truus from Holland

Greetings Marly: Black Bird Designs do have some lovely Samplers.
Silly little squirrel and to tease Petey, shame on him.
I hope you are feeling better soon, ruined a good batch of apple crisp, forgot to add butter to the topping, ick.

Bummer on the fabric and still not getting results. I'm not sure if returning things not as shown will result in better photos (new ones for every batch), or in fewer places willing to carry it. But what's the use keeping it if it can't be dipped to make it what you want? As to covid results, that's SO frustrating that there's such delays in getting results when there's a short window to get medications started. I'm so hoping they come in time, and if not, you don't get any sicker than you already are. That sounds like a good plan - instead of a tiny subdued birthday celebration, have a big noisy one after you're better and Carole's done with surgery. A triple celebration - you getting better, Carole's birthday, and a good outcome of surgery.

Squirrels - so hilarious, yet so aggravating. Yesterday I went to an antique shop in downtown Clinton and they have one squirrel that comes in and finds tree seeds blown in the door. It's quite calm, doesn't touch the corn or pumpkins inside, doesn't jump on the items for sale. It wanders the floor near the door looking around. It got locked in overnight and... nothing done, it just waited until morning. I remember one time, a squirrel found an open barn window at Dad's and thought that was dandy for storing nuts. It brought in hundreds, even stuffing them in the exhaust pipe of a small tractor. That was quite the exciting surprise when Dad started it in spring when those nuts came shooting out.
