A little Snippy

Hello shoppers and stitchers.  I didn't do much of either today.  We went out to get those unattractive but very useful TriBurst lights for the garage.  Thought it might prevent another door from being destroyed.  That was it!  Kraynak's is still so packed with people I am uncomfortable browsing.  Maybe Monday at store opening.  The older I am, the more I avoid gatherings, crowded stores, even celebrations like weddings.  Complete opposite of younger days, and I don't like it one bit.

I removed all the stitches and need to stabilize the linen in that area for the rice stitch.  I've mentioned before about using Lift 'n Snip clippers for better control when cutting.  Several inquired about those snips and I don't believe this particular brand is still sold.  There is a folding version I believe, mine are decades old.

These are the blades.

The bottom hook is quite sharp and easy to slip under the top threads.

I ordered Notforgotten Farm's charts, Christmas Folk and Spools of my Thread.  I'm 70, and limiting spending on inexpensive items that bring joy will have greater impact on mood than on budget.
Merry Christmas to me.

She featured it in her Christmas show announcement and I searched her Etsy page after page several times and did not see it.  But I ordered today along with that sweet sweet little bag that I have loved for a long time.  Then I found a file that was downloaded months ago from Pineberry Lane, A Sprig of Holly.  Add those to the latest from Lori Rippey and I have several smaller Christmas projects to think about.  It better be soon because I have less than a month!  I may switch to one or two with a promise to myself that I WILL return to Rachel.

Surgery is scheduled for December 9.

Snowing here, black ice, lots of accidents.  Be careful!!

I'm like you now and avoid crowds if I can. One of our doctors died from Covid after being triple jabbed and with a new strain detected in South Africa, you can't be too careful. Love the spools chart, pity she doesn't do it in PDF format. Look forward to seeing your progress on it.

A pity you have to rip out these stitches.
Love the new charts you will stitch.
I am often looking for freebees from blogs-- these are small ones and easy to make.
I don't like crowds and birthday parties anymore. Like being home and do some stitching or one of my other hobbies.
Take care and stay save. Lots of love and sending prayers and a big hug, Truus from Holland

I don't recall ever enjoying crowds, and it's getting less and less the older I get. Add in covid and its political/social issues, I could easily turn into a hermit. But sometimes there's something I really want, either item or experience, and I make myself go.

I like your new charts, I may have to go investigate them further myself.

Crowds are dangerous these days. I often worry about being bumped around and losing my balance, it wouldn't take much some days! Pandemic concerns, etc. not worth the risk to me. I broke down and bought the little wooden Not Forgotten Farm armchair tray a few months ago. It is perfect. I am always concerned the puppy will grab scissors or needles etc. This keeps items I am using close at hand and out of her sight. Sorry you had to remove stitches, always frustrating. Take care.

I am like Gail and have never enjoyed crowds of any sort...and now that I am older, am in serious danger of becoming a recluse. I believe that if I had someone to run errands for me, I probably would be one. I've liked NFF's Christmas Folk for some time now....tempt me not. I probably won't get to any of the Christmas stitches that have been in que for years already this year either given that I decided to start a hooking project....and I have at least one Christmas thing stitched from last year (?) that has never been finally finished. Yeah, I was one of those inquiring about your lift n' snips...and nope, they don't make the kind you have any more. Probably a good thing...I am pretty certain I would find a way to misuse it in such a way as to end up with an irreparable hole in my linen. ~Robin~
