and ... end of that day

Hello thankful people.  Am I an egghead or what?  Things happen, debt is incurred, frustration with objects and possessions is constant, overdyed linen will never be what it should, and none of it matters.  It's life baby.  Put your big girl white Fruit of the Loom full (and I mean full) size briefs on and continue with your boring life.

We're home, Carole enjoyed the goat cheese, Dalmatia fig spread, cherry tomatoes with fresh mozzarella pearls drizzled with honey and balsamic, kiwi, mango, smoked swiss, and iced coffee.  It was a nice visit.  The people at this facility are top notch, so caring, always upbeat, and extremely kind.  I hope I did not offend any when they came into her room to say hello (yes these workers just stop to talk with residents) and each hugged her and exclaimed how sorry they were to hear the news.  My mouth opened, fig seeds filling teeth gaps, and I announced this surgery is a shame, yes, but they aren't thinking about the extreme pain for months that will end, the ability to sit, mobility with a wheelchair, go outside, in the kitchen, at home, in a restaurant.  Yes yes yes it is horrible and sad, but don't make her feel worse.  Tell her although devastating, it will free her from that bed, from the pain, from the isolation.  And then I finished the goat cheese.  Boom.

Mark went out to get a bag of ice for two small coolers and we will keep coffee cream and juices, daily use items near the kitchen.  Boom!

So dear friends, I am sorry I spouted off like a whiny weenie.  I'm so tired, and like all babies, expressed my crankiness.

Hope your day was good.

I'm using Paypal to pay some things and decided to spend my $10 on a WTNT Santa chart.  Either Merry Old Soul or Peppermint Pals.  I'm sure I can move a few bucks into the stash fund for postage.

I just realized the Steelers aren't playing tomorrow, it's Thursday not Saturday!

Happy Thanksgiving Marly! Here`s hoping you have more good than bad and ugly for the foreseeable future. Watched Planes, Trains and Automobiles last night and it made me laugh and be thankful for what blessings I do have. Life is hard to be sure. You and your family continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.

Sad year for you and your family but I'm certain you are thankful that they are still with you. I hope your health improves in the new year and that you continue to have that wonderful witty way of expressing what is going on in your life -- please know I think of you and I always look forward to your postings. Hope you were able to enjoy some turkey today.

Marly, I’m glad you and Carole had a nice visit. You girls have had so much to deal with and I hope that you are blessed with only good things next year. I’m thankful for your blog and everything you share with us, including your beautiful stitching. I’m stitching WTNT Merry Old Soul at the moment. After all the cooking and dishes of the day, I’m hoping for some stitching time tonight.....if I can stay awake!! Take care, Cherie in WI

Just sending hugs and prayers for you and Carole. It may not be much, but it is all I can offer.

If I had all the crap happen to me that has happened to you, I wouldn't be nearly as cheerful as you manage. Besides, I recently saw a story about in spite of all the "look on the good side of everything" crap we have crammed down out throats, being a perennial pollyanna is actually not good for you. Sorry about the latest round of things breaking and going wrong. I hope the refrigerator situation can be sorted soon.

I'm happy that Carole was pleased with the food bits, hope the little tree was OK too. That Peppermint Pals is cute! But your blog isn't Samplers and Santas for nothing, so I'm betting it will be Merry Old Soul in your mailbox.

Glad to hear that Carole enjoyed the food you had with you for her.
I had to laugh when you told about your mouth full of fig and cheese.
I have too much fantasy and saw your face if I was with you.
Hope you will take time to sit and stitch and have a peacefull day at home.
Take care and stay save, lots of love and prayers for you all,Truus from Holland

Hi Marly: I am so happy you were able to spend some time with Carole, it sounds like all the goodies you brought were yummy at least for me they sounded oh so good.
You truly are not a weenie, I have complained about so much and then felt better for it, poor mike has to listen and then hugs me.
I hope you are able to find the perfect fridge soon.
I am looking forward to seeing the progress on your stitching.

Hugs to you
Catherine

Even though I officially declared yesterday a non-holiday, and while it was for all intents and purposes, I, too, got messed up on the days. What the heck?? Carole is fortunate to get such high-end, gourmet, snacks. I bring my mom Fig Newtons. (Don't judge me, they are her favorites but they usually don't get eaten either.) Those two patterns are intensely popular...it seems everyone is doing them. They are stinking cute. ~Robin~
