can still be crooked and frustrating. Now, if I didn't follow the irregular pattern of these straight rows, would it be noticeable? Absolutely not. So why did I waste so much time counting and moving? Regardless, I did, and when it finished as charted I felt pretty darn good. But tonight I can get closer to the house since I haven't stabilized the center for the rice stitch motif yet. The large outside borders were to be rice also, but they weren't boxed as four stitches and I rarely read instructions. No matter, because I would have used basic cross as I did. I also filled the borders and center with the 3013 that I held off on because of the difficulty with seeing such a light thread. My eyes were slightly better last night so I got those threads filled, and was surprised at the amount of stitches and time that it took.
Still decided whether to start a small seasonal project, and now I understand why Merry Old Soul is sold out. I caught up with floss tube and saw that two favorites featured him two weeks ago! Procrastinating always bites me and I had several sites with him in my cart before that. I also noticed that quite a few cart items on Amazon and other sites are several dollars higher on this Cyber Monday sale.
Repair is here right now and the fridge can be fixed! Ice buildup from defrosting blocked some hickeyamabob and the thingamajig burned up. Lots of other calls and such today, can't do much else with snow and ice covering leaves, too cold to finally get windows washed. Probably continue cleaning and bring a few small trees down. I've been looking at the battery candles and wonder how long they actually last before needing replaced. Some have rounded and stationary flames, some have flat flames that move. Not sure which would be best.
I found this old box at the only local vintage shop, and I really want to visit the large antique shop in Ohio. Just never works out. I think the price was a little high for this but I do like wood boxes and especially this size with its iron handles. Scrubbing the grime is disgusting but needs done and if not filled with greenery, a small tree may call it home. Lestoil is the absolute best but I'm trying citrus cleaners first. It's sitting in mom's shower, best place to catch the filth splatters from scrubbing.
Hope your last days of November are good!

Marly, your sampler is just beautiful. I’m glad your eyes were a little better so you could do some stitching. And, glad that the fridge can be fixed! You more than deserve to catch a break!! You can order Merry Old Soul directly from Brenda Gervais on her website www.countrystitchesonline.com. But, be careful.....there are sure to be others that catch you eye and hop in your cart!! Have a good week! Cherie in WI
That old box would have caught my eye too! I hope you post when you have finished cleaning it and incorporated it into you décor. Nice find!
Marly, I also had to replace my 3G phone. AT&T gave me one for free! If they want to keep you as a customer, they will do this. See what your carrier will do. The phone they gave me is an I-10. So happy to read that you are feeling up to cleaning your home!
Oh...my.... Rachel is looking...how do you say? Donc tres bon! I confess I was snickering at the uneven rows being perfectly stitched as charted. Yup, I'd be the one ripping out entire rows just to make them exactly imperfect in the same way as they are on the chart. I covet that box. ~Robin~ (PS...re the b/o candles (not to be confused with b.o.....)...Although (usually) pricier, I really prefer the flat moving flame ones...as in the real Luminara brand. They really look more realistic. (Is that redundant??))
I do the same thing when I have something disgusting that needs to be washed. Wash it in the shower and then just rinse off all the grime left behind. Glad they were able to fix your fridge, it sure beats having to buy a new one. I have candles with stationary flames and candles with flames that move. I have them all over the house. Most are on timers and they last for a few months before needing their batteries replaced.
Love the new old box and your hint of evergreen!
Love your old box and it will looking good with some greenery in it.
I have also some candles on batterijen and it will take a few months before I replace them.
Take care and stay safe,Truus from Holland
Yes, all the cell phone companies are shutting down 3G, so even going to a different company will not help. Not only are old phones affected, but so are older versions of auto assistance programs like On-Star.
That is a very cool box, and I'm happy you had a night with less eye troubles. Rachel is looking Goooood.
