Browsing Day

Hi folks.  Merry day after Christmas ....  Browsing Day!

It's difficult to be familiar with all the talented designers that are not the names we hear over and over.   My Paypal account is empty and I went back to Etsy to see why (being familiar with spending is difficult too).   The suggestions Etsy offered for future purchases included Santa designs, but one in particular tempted me to investigate the designer.  New to me, Twin Peak Primitives in the Netherlands.  Available as downloads and also on Etsy.  I looked closely and saw what appeared to be over one, but reading description stated the fabric was 16 Aida.  So easily done on any count linen over two.  The various snowman designs are sweet too.  Are you familiar with them?  Here are a few ...

Sweet!  I am taking my time to use the generous gift for stitching items from an anonymous friend.  What I choose will be a special reminder of her kindness and thoughtfulness.

Mark has the large batch of spaghetti sauce on the stove.  It takes hours so we will freeze in anticipation of Carole's visit and stuffed shell dinner.  His Italian family used pork ribs, not meatballs, and after browning they are cooked in the sauce to flavor.  Our visit with her yesterday was very nice, but I can't stop thinking about my friend and her rare cancer.  An excellent nurse, a mother of five, an old soul who takes great pride and enjoyment in caring for her family and home.

This is the finish of Sprig, I used the white thread for fewer flakes, and this fabric is the only one I've found that goes well with the 730 and 830 DMC series.

I considered finishing Sprig as a small pocket, but it will be added to the pile of final finishing.

The start is NFF's Santa Folk and will be another finished with that fabric.  The far right bell is deliberately absent because I may shorten the width of the design.  I'm sorry I didn't use a dark gray thread for the clapper.  I may add a single thread over the gold, we'll see how it looks.

I plan to find a rheumatologist closer to me, and an orthopedist.  Will also proceed with the hair loss issue which was worsened greatly, my wrinkled macula surgery, my cardio appointment which I had to cancel twice, and try to find a GYN since they have left my area.

I hope everyone has a relaxing day to read, nap, browse, stitch, reminisce, and give thanks.

Loved the No. 1 Santa, but he is not unlike the pose of the beauty you showed Christmas eve. A whole new source for Santas, hmmm? Carole is going to have a feast when she
arrives. My Mother always used a pork butt for the sauce, claiming it was more tasty...
meatballs an addition. Hope Boxing Day is relaxing and easeful for you, Marly , and
that you have caught your breath and can let go for a spell..... Enjoy the day....

Oh....my.... I can almost smell your kitchen!! I love Italian food, but what I make is mostly "Americanized" (e.g., no pork ribs (actually never heard of that), not even any meatballs...nor even pork sausage....I just use ground chuck LOL). One of my most vivid memories from the time I lived in Spain and had some spaghetti in Italy while visiting there. I was shocked at how little sauce they actually put on the pasta. I'm glad you had a nice visit with Carole...but happier yet that you are finally turning some attention on the things you need to do for yourself. Hope you have better luck finding a rheumatologist than I have had. Mine left 2+ years ago and was not replaced. My (outrageously expensive) insurance only covers care only through one medical group and the nearest one is over an hour away. It's a long story but when I needed the prescription for my biologic renewed and they were requiring I see a rheumatologist first, I had a bit of a hissy fit over being required to travel 2+ hours (both ways) for a prescription renewal and a few labs. They actually had one of the rheumatologists travel to the local medical center. Once in a blue moon a law degree does come in handy. Nope, have not heard of Twin Peaks Primitives but, I agree, her Santas (and snowpeep) are cute. I try to remember to put my blinders on when on purchasing sites....It's difficult enough to resist the other designs of a designer whose pattern I am in search of let alone "browse" randomly. ;-) I feel horrible always asking a question, but can you pretty please refresh my memory on the linen your used for Sprig?? I really like it and think it may be appropriate for a little Christmas piece I am contemplating and for which I purchased (too much) linen that turned out to be not to my liking. ~Robin~

Of course I know the Twin Peaks in the Netherlands! lol They have lovely charts and I like the Santa's you showed us.
The Sprig is lovely and you are already stichting another one.
Did some stitching myself yesterday since august--at last I found some time instead of unpacking boxes from moving house. There are a lot more boxes to do,but I thought it's Christmas so no boxes today and just sit and relax!
Hope you will find a good rheumatologist and they can help you.
Sounds great the food you and Mark are making!
Take care and stay save, Truus from Holland

The Santa charts you are looking at are great! Sprig is SO cute! Love it! Your new piece with the bell border is cool.
Hope you can find the doctors you need Marly.
