The tube

It's only been a few weeks since I handled them yet I was baffled as to why these tubes were in the Christmas totes.  Takes a while, but eventually, it will come to me.  Bingo.  The wrapping paper rolls have a wider opening for the denser trees, but these feather style can use the kitchen wrap rolls.  Wrapped in muslin or protective paper, I have several large samplers rolled on the wrapping paper size and smaller projects on the others.

Got several loads of clothes dropped off last night, she "needs" them today, so I've been busy.  I managed to sew the 12 inch pillow cover and the flannel choice was a good one.

It doesn't move.  I really like this pillow form because the cover has a small zipper allowing fill to be removed if too much loft, or more added.  Great feature.  I removed about 1/4, gentle padding is all that's needed.

I used the same envelope method as I do on smaller stitchery finishes.  This has a longer overlap since it will get a bit of use.  If I have time before we take the ride to her facility, I will get the 12 x 16 done and can adjust the fill while she is in the wheelchair.

Breaded pork chops with worcestershire and leftover kugel for dinner.

Have a good one!

Adorable pillow, glad Carole is doing well. You got to go to Joann’s you brave soul. I went to grocery store double masked and hands swimming in sanitizer! I am having beef stew and dumpling tonight. Well actually i only eat the vegetables and dumpling. Waiting for tomorrow’s snow. Me happy the husband not so much we still cannot find someone to shovel snow for us. Where are all the teenagers? Be well

Even pillows to be used as cushion in a wheelchair are done with a perfectionist touch. I love the envelope finish - and so very practical. I did a couple of them many many years ago; I'm sure I couldn't do them now without hunting down a good YouTube tutorial or something. I use kitchen wrap tubes, too, for finished (but not completely finished) stitched/punched projects but don't wrap them with anything. My bad. I know it makes sense and the thought fleetingly skittered through my head but quickly exited stage left. ~Robin~

What a great job on the pillow. Perfection as always.
I'm sure Carole will appreciate them.

It's a lovely pillow with this fabric and you did a great job!
I also use the tubes for my samplers when I don't frame them. I put some tissue paper around it from shoe boxes. When I buy shoes --and I don't often lol-- then I put the tissue paper with my stitching stuf so I don't have to search when will using them.
Take care, sending prayers andd love to you, Truus from Holland

Sweet heart pillow and beautiful finish. Carole is so fortunate to have a sister who knows how to do so many things for her. I hope she is getting along well and will be able to be at home soon.
Thinking of you !

I may need to visit the pillow/stuffing section next time I'm at Joann. I'm glad the pillows and flannel worked out for Carole. I keep tubes for a while, then toss them when I wonder why I'm keeping them. Then I need one and rats! I don't have one. It's not so bad for paper towel or t.p. tubes, but gift wrap tubes are not so easy to come by. Though even paper towel rolls are less available since we don't have inside kitties right now since less cleanup is needed.

And that wine box from a couple of posts ago - I'd be wondering how to adapt one for needlework or sewing.
