Hello people. Except for a massively swollen cheek and soreness, all is well and I was released from dental jail after three hours. When swelling subsides, we'll be at the bank getting a loan for the rest. Could buy a fricking car but without saliva and its enzymes, decay is unavoidable.
Now about that pink. The chart's photo of the original sampler looks fairly bright, combine that with a quick and inaccurate check of the symbols, I stitched the lighter area with 761 which was incorrect. After completing one flower, I didn't like it. Too much contrast. The charted pink interior is 407. What? That doesn't look compatible at all when skein to skein. But looks pretty damn nice when stitched. A keeper.
Cheryl asked about magnification/light I use. Here's my set up.
This Dazor at 3 diopter, was purchased at a shop forty years ago and until recently, was only used to locate splinters. I wonder if my brother still has Pat's, we bought them at the same time. It's just the last several years that higher count linens were considered and used, then mag glasses were needed. Currently 3.5 to 4.0. The Dazor lens view is better and with the additional focused light, optimal. A 5 diopter lens can be added on and the units now come with LED which I would prefer. No way I am spending that amount of money. They are the best, not only in the glass lens and light, but the flexibility in positioning. I considered getting rid of mine several times, glad I didn't. Mine also has a clamp for a table and the arm section pulls out of the floor stand to convert.
This little chest of four drawers holds my fabric and some other items, extra needles, scissors, journals, on top.
The TV tray with raised edge is my catchall.
Multiple magnets hold various items on the very heavy lamp base.
I have husband working on a project that I've wanted for some time, and I think will be a great addition.
And the table to my left has Biotene gel and water bottles, along with this.
New to us, found at a sub shop near my dentist. Holy nut dunker, they are good.
Have a great day.

You are so fortunate to have a Dazor. I looked into them at one point but didn't want to have to go back to work in order to afford one. Yikes. That and the size of the base would be problematic for my teeny, tiny, space. As long as we are on the subject of lights, I am also curious as to what you use when you travel? I have never taken stitching with me when traveling as carrying around the magnifying light I have a home is not practical. I think you mentioned a portable Mighty Brite?? Oh yum....those dunkers look wonderful. ~Robin~
Hope you're feeling better from your dental procedure. Ouch!! Those nutty dunkers look delicious. I could use one with my cup of coffee as the snow is really coming down out there. We don't get as much as you do, so when we do, I love it! Take care of your swollen cheek.
Hope your swollen cheek is much better today and glad the pain has gone by now.
Your nutty dunkers are looking delicious and hope you can eat these en enjoy them.
Take care and stay save,Truus from Holland
So glad the dental visit is over..........now on to healing and being pain free.
I have a 10x magnifier but it is too strong since my cataract surgery. Am using 2 readers......should have 3s.
Messed up on my Patriotic rose, stuck it in a drawer for now. May start entirely over again. Was so aggravated.
Beautiful day yesterday, 73 and sunny.........cold is on the way. Fill up your car's gas tank......prices going up.
Take care, would love one of your doughnuts.

Thank you so much for the light information. I am thinking I may poke the gifters in this family for this one. Since my birthday and Mother's Day often fall on the same day, I need to plan ahead to avoid more jewelry and more fancy pottery!
I plan to rearrange my stitching corner. The dog loves to sniff around there, my table is loaded with baskets right now, one with crochet progress, one with a cross-stitch project, one with new tools still in their packages, you know what I mean.
I struggle with pinks, all pinks. They just don't filter out well for me.
Sure hope you feel better today. You inspire me, hope you know that. Take care.
I'm glad you got out of the dentist without your fears of split lip or locked jaw happening. It's bad enough to be sore, swollen, and needing a loan. Thank You for showing your stitching setup. I always find new tool & storage ideas for myself when people show their areas or rooms.
@TheCrankyCrow - I got one of these lights for my chair in the living room. In fact I got 2nd of this one, plus one that has a base and 120v plug-in to take with me on sew/stitch-ins or vacations. No affiliation, etc. The drawback is they don't have a magnifier.

So glad you got through your dental ordeal okay, Marly. It really IS shocking how expensive any procedure there is, though. We were just talking about that the other day.
Your stitching set-up looks great and those nutty dunkers look ever greater :) Nice find!
407 is a strange color--to me, it never looks right on the skein, but stitched into a piece it somehow always blends in nicely. Anyway--your sampler is coming along nicely. Enjoy your weekend! ♥
