Lizzie has been such an enjoyable stitch.
No problems, minimal placement changes, few color changes. I tried the red outline of hearts, no. I stitched the final initials in red to match the row's beginning, no. Instead, subbed 738 for the outlines and kept the charted color for initials. Even after removing the red option and stitching again, no frustration. Good grief am I growing up? Say it ain't so!!
Truth be told, this is just an easy, fun, cheerful design. Not sure what classifies as "cheerful", but it is.
Previously I sold several stitched samplers, received emails that they were priced too low. How do you decide on a price for an unframed piece? Considering selling to get funds for the dental work, which is obscene. Sadly, they would be a very small fraction of the cost, so maybe not worth it.
Ice balls and rain now, heading to nursery for a few shrubs. Umbrella or helmet?

You have certainly have had a run of difficult weather, Marly. As to your finished samplers, I would do an overview of what comparable pieces
are fetching and put yours in a competitive range...more than justified given your workmanship and "redesigns"... I have to agree, this sampler
has a "happy" effect in viewing. Everyday in every way, you are getting
better and better ..... all around.
Lizzie is looking so pretty. Glad you are enjoying her, Marly!
Really crazy weather today, eh, Marly? I looked out and thought it was petals from our crabapple tree that had fallen, but it turned out to be sleety ice covering all of the beds! And more freeze warnings this week. I told my husband he was planting too early!
So glad you are enjoying Lizzie--it's so nice to just fully relax and watch the design take shape!
Lizzie is such a pretty sampler with beautiful colors!
And you can stitch so fast despite your bad eyesight. I think if you would stitch the four very small Easter charts I am working on,you would stitched it twice before I was half way the two charts....lol
Take care with the iceballs and slippers roads, Truus from Holland
I wonder if you're a *bit* less stressed now that Carole is pretty much settled at home that stitching this has been so much fun for you?
I have no idea how to price a stitched sampler. I can only say it stinks that you are in the situation to have to consider doing that for dental work. OTOH, if you have completed samplers that don't bring you happy any more, why not sell and put the money to yourself.
I hope you found some nice shrubs, even if the weather was less than stellar.
Marly!!! Lizzie is wonderful. I love how you are stitching this piece. I also love your new potting bench. Trying (key word) to catch up on blogs after my vacation. Nearing completion (well, I've been saying that for weeks) on Ellen Harrison...think I've picked a Blackbird Design for the next piece (always subject to change).
Lizzie is quite a charmer - I think the hearts, the tree reaching up, the upwards flow of the blooms in the vase all contribute to the uplifting feel. Mixed feelings on that growing up thing. Tough decision on the sale of samplers - one never comes close to recouping the costs for stitching or hooking or most handwork. Those who don't do the work have no clue the cost of just the linen, etc. Good luck. I fear I may be have some large dental bills in my future as well. All I can say is I know I won't be funding it with works from my hands. ☹️ ~Robin~
