Done.
I started stitching her age and date, and that extra row was enough to make it a little too large for the finish I envisioned, so frogged it was. The drum is still considered, but a sweet little pincushion with fussy edging is also. Since seeing vintage and antique needlework on IG with some razzle dazzle, a beaded hanging edge trim may be fun. Perfect little sampler to mix with berries and drums in a bowl, I'm liking short Maud.
She lived to be 93 and passed away in 1971. I was 20 and causing problems at work!
Be safe folks.

Short Maud is another winner! Happy Easter Marly to you and your family.
Perfect!
Another trick from you I need to remember - I don't need to stitch the whole thing. Maud looks good.
It's funny how time & math doesn't enter into my head looking at old sampler patterns. Somehow I never put a 10 year old girl stitching a late 1800s sampler as living into the mid-late 1900s.
I hope your Easter is a good one.
And how is it that "late 1900s" can be 23-50ish years ago already?!?!
Oh Marly, I love short Maud. She is a beauty.
Short Maud is charming - and yes, berries suit her so very well. I am coveting your berries. Always have an always will. ~Robin~
