Yellow

Hi folks.  Been busy with outdoor work while waiting for landscape help.  So disgusted.  The sewer project was 2021!

I'm undecided about the yellow in the main areas of this sampler.  On this round floral motif, the left is color called for, a brighter from the legend is on the right. Darker does not show better on this linen, brighter does.  There is a another yellow in the design that I haven't tried, but it may be too much with the pastel flowers. When I tape to the wall and stand back, I want to notice it even if faint, so the right side will work better.

No question whether these yellows are noticed!

I do not want to take Advil 24/7 for extended periods but I have no choice now.  Been waiting over two months for my follow up to get a knee injection, wearing a brace, getting worse.  The IT band started it all and now pain has wrapped around to the back.  That is not related to my back and right hand arthritis, which limits my movements for several hours in the mornings.  Still a problem throughout the day but at least I can move with corresponding grunts.  Rheumatologist follow up is July.  Waiting so long to see physicians or NPs is ridiculous.  My friend was in the ER with heart issues and patients were lined up in the hallway, no rooms available.

My neighbor sold his house for such a ridiculous price, still shocked.  Amy's small two bedroom brick was appraised at 130K two years ago when she thought about selling, it is now 225K.  And the houses are selling like nuts in a ballpark.  We are not ready to sell, and certainly would not be buying anything at these inflated prices.  Will they hold 5 years from now or go back down to earth?

Missy is driving me nuts with constant crying, wanting to go outside.  She enjoyed running and hunting and relaxing in the sun for her 12 years, and has not been out since fall.  Next door sent me a pic of the black bear breaking her birdfeeder last night, I have seen him before, concerned about the fawns.  Nothing I can do about that, but am torn about giving Missy some freedom.  She's a pistol, and would fight in a split second if she could.  But that was when the guys were with her, and she is very lonely without them.  Still can't hold her, pick her up, approach her.  But she will lie on top of the grain bin for brushing.  And sit in my line of sight crying for a half hour, take a half hour break, and start again.

Hot today.  Hubs is golfing.  Hope your day is a good one!

Thanks for visiting.

I'm awful with color, so no help from me on the yellow (and yellow always looks washed out to me on linen). Poor Missy. Someone suggested we try to keep Mable inside. She would have none of that! AND, would make our lives miserable if we did that. When I messed up my back over a year ago, the Dr. gave me a prescription for Meloxicam - like advil (but one pill maybe twice a day) and gentler on your stomach. Worked for me! Have a good weekend!

I think more people are going to the ER because the access to physicians is so very limited these days. I haven't had a rheumatologist since mine left 2+ years ago. And I just received notice that another of my specialists has left. So, right now, I don't have a single physician/specialist that I had... In the past 5 years, every single one has left. No wonder there is no continuity of care. I'm not a yellow girl...in stitches or blooms.... Except tansy....I do love me my tansy. Poor Missy. Once a cat has been exposed to the outdoors, they will always long for it. ~Robin~

Poor Missy ;-(
You can never catch a break with health issues.
Houses in the still depressed city where I live are also selling like crazy for more than the asking price. A little sh**box house 2 doors down from me has a sale pending sign. It will be interesting to see what it sells for. I was talking with the listing realtor a couple weeks ago and he seems to think prices will be dropping once again...and very soon.

I agree with cat "behavior" and their insisting on going outside. Not much you can do about it except give in if they tear your heart out with whimpering & crying to go outside.

As to the yellow in your sampler, I think it should show up a bit better if it was more on the golden-brownish shade which you'll have to see what you might have in your stash (rather than buy something). Otherwise, you're doing great, especially considering what you're going through healthwise. Maybe just continue stitching the sampler and go back later to those yellow flowers before you make a final decision of what to do about them.

Can't believe you're still dealing with the yard repairs! Terrible situation and concern to worry with.

Sorry you're in pain. It doesn't look like health care will be getting any better for any of us anytime soon, only worse unfortunately. You can add that to the long list of services that are not what they used to be. It's a sad state of affairs. Our neighbor just sold her house for $20,000 over the asking price. She got $299,000 for it. Not sure if we'll be selling, but ours is a little bigger than hers so hopefully we'll get $20,000 over too if we decide to sell. But of course by then who knows what the housing market will be like. Have a good weekend.

Your sampler is looking good. I have no suggestion on the yellow; on my monitor, there appears to be only a small difference.

Poor Missy!

Enjoy your weekend, Marly!

I am sorry for your pain and I have the same 'problem' 24/7 . My reumha Dr gave me the advise to take Glucosamine Chondroïtine.
First I thought it didn't work at all,but after a weekend without I was in terrible pain so I took these pills again. It works for me but not for everyone unfortunly. But you can try-- I don't have the expensive ones.,just the cheaper bottle.
Take care and have a sunny weekend,Truus from Holland

Be glad houses are only $225,000 where you are; in my area, a 2 bedroom, one bath cottage is going for $375,000. 1 bed/1 bath 800 square foot condos go for $240,000. There's a tear-down in my daughter's town that just sold for $300,000, because the lot is desirable and in a good school district.

When I had a medical emergency last August, I lay on a gurney in the hall of the ER from 6 pm until midnight when I finally got in for an MRI. In my state there's an extreme lack of medical personnel because the governor fired everyone who refused the Covid vaccine. Of course, now that it's been proven to be useless, he's very quietly removed the stipulation and hospitals are trying to hire them back. Still a shortage though, because hospitals don't want to pay what they're demanding, they want to hire at entry level salaries. Which is ludicrous.
