Whatever this means, this crabass has her pincers drawn.
Ready to shred.
Impression
Extensive edema present involving the medial tibial plateau as result
of a shallow subcortical fracture of the mid and anterior two thirds.
Other additional meniscal and soft tissue abnormalities described above
Narrative
CLINICAL HISTORY: r/o fracture, r/o internal derangement; Iliotibial
band syndrome, right leg; Unilateral primary osteoarthritis, right
knee.
CONTRAST:
None
FINDINGS:
Mild joint effusion.
Anterior and posterior cruciate ligaments intact.
There is a moderate degree of marrow edema involving the medial
tibial metaphysis with an associated nondepressed shallow subcortical
fracture of the medial tibial plateau mid and anterior two thirds.
Overlying cartilage appears intact
Medial meniscus posterior horn has a complex tear. Most of the mid
and posterior portion are largely extruded from the joint with
posterior anchor tear pattern. Medial compartment is narrowed and
there is also a subtle degree of lateral subluxation of the tibia
relative to the usual femoral axis.
Anterior horn better preserved.
Cartilage quite thin
There is also a moderate degree of periarticular edema medially with
mild to moderate strain related is findings of the medial collateral
ligament, particularly inferiorly but without any complete avulsion
evident.
Lateral meniscus has a horizontal tear of the mid region with
presence of a small sub-meniscal cyst. The more anterior and
posterior components appear intact.
Cartilage is quite thin as well.
Lateral collateral ligament and iliotibial band unremarkable
There is strain of popliteus muscle but the tendon is intact
Patellar tendon signal appears normal however there is quite a
prominent degree of edema involving the lower prepatellar soft
tissues, likely reflecting underlying bursitis
Extensive patellofemoral cartilage loss without marrow edema.
Summanabitch.
An injection better be the solution.
And it better work.
It's fricking summer!!

Marly,I can't believe you are walking. Looks like about 4 things going on. On Youtube Bob and Brad, greatest physical therapists on the internet are great. They show the anatomy of knee, how it works and what can go wrong. Gives a person an idea how things work, where located, symptoms. I am just a baby nurse, but it looks like arthritis, meniscus tears, fractured at top tibia (back calf bone), bursitis/tendinitis. It seems like injury/aging then snowballs into other things due to trying to compensate from the first occurrence. Hang in there. Jen
Hate to say, I'm guessing a new knee is truely needed. MY husband had a torn meniscus and had surgery and still walks with a cane. Yet my SIL had one and went to a physical therapist for slightly over a year and is fine now.
Will be interesting to see what they recommend.
Sorry for your pain.
Well crap! You win. I know how miserable and limited in movement I am, but I don't have the break...or osteoarthritis....at least that I know of. I sure hope they get a plan together for treatment immediately. I'd be fuming too.
I hear your pain and frustration....gone are the days of utter reliance upon the medical profession.. Praying you accurate treatment and physio to pull you out of the chain of errors...
as well as the relief an injection will bring you.
A big hug to you 💞
Seems every thing everywhere in the world is the same when you have problems with your health. The doctors never listen to your problems and when scans are needed, the results are almost always nothing although you are in terrible pain.
I wish these doctors the same pain and trouble as we have and nobody listen to them -- so they do know how it is when you have 24/7 pain and problems.
Sending healing prayers and lots of love and a big hug to you,Truus from Holland
I am terribly sorry that you are going through such pain and anguish. Sounds like what I'm going through with surgeons and gynonocologist/surgeons. Still no answer as to whether I have cancer. Have had two major surgeries since Nov. 23, 2023.
Seeing a new doctor on 7/20/23.
Praying that you will get some relief soon.
God bless you.

Don't know if this will help you to feel any better about your health issues but just to let you know there might be a little tiny pinprick of light at the end of the tunnel for you. I had replacement knee surgery in January 2018 and replacement surgery on the other knee six months later. Then in April of 2022, two surgeries to replace my left shoulder but because of extensive osteoarthritis required a third surgery the following August. Had a total replacement of my right shoulder in early April this year. Because of these surgeries I can now walk two miles a days, I'm NOT in a wheelchair, I am once again able to drive, I have finished three quilt tops since the first of June, and I turned 75 this month. It wasn't fun but it can be done. If anyone has the guts to face her issues, it is you. Take deep breaths, Marly, you'll get there.
Holy Moly! So sorry you are having such pain Marly and I sure hope they come up with an answer for you quickly. Sending all the healing juju your way!
Hi Marly, I understand some of all "that" and the pain that comes with it, but at least you now have an answer. Be well, & please take care.
