My first 46 count. I found that the weft (?) threads (vertical to selvage) are shredding, breaking, even without much stress. The warp threads (horizontal) are still breaking with a tug but are stronger than the weft. I am sure this is not the norm with this count, and am anxious to stitch on a different piece.
So, this sweet sampler from Scarlet Letter will be added to the pile for final finishing. It is just under 5" x 2.5".
Folded in half, a darling little needle book.
If mylar or mat board inserted, I can stand it half open as a miniature book, both sides visible. Sounds good!
Yesterday's mail delivered this market release that hasn't seemed to get much buzz. I recently saw a chart with these same letters in red on a sampler, different designer. Striking, and hope to finish as a book/journal cover, may be a perfect fit. The 1840 miniature standing with it .... yepper!
Be well, be safe.

Congratulations on your beautiful finish. Happy Easter.
A lovely finish Marly! And, yes, a standing little book would be great. I am REALLY loving that new pattern of yours. Yikes...I never even saw that one mentioned. Very tempting. I need to work on some finishes. I have a pile of things I've collected for finishing but there never seems to the the "right" one or the stitching...or the right stitching for the finishing piece?? Happy Easter to you as well. ~Robin~
Love the smalls. My piece of 46 ct. does not seem to have flaws - now I can't wait to start on it. Never get to finish anything's - I hate doing it - like sending them out..LOL Happy Easter
A lil book would be perfect. Happy Easter. Janice
Congratulations on another lovely finish. I love many of the older Scarlet Letter samplers that are no longer available and wish they would be reprinted. Happy Easter!
Beautiful finish Marly and love the idea of a booklet finish...never thought of doing that.
The two charts are lovely and easy to stitch.
Happy Easter to both of you too.
Take care,Truus from Holland
What a beautiful sampler finish, Marly! I haven't seen the sampler design that just arrived. Hmmm...will need to go look for it. That lidded photo frame box looks great. I wonder if they are still available. Happy Easter to you!
Oh, can you believe I stitched that little sampler in 1992...the only sampler I ever did over one? I know it was a larger count linen, but still it is only 2 3/8" x 4 7/16". It has been sitting in my shoebox of completed cross stitch ever since. I will email you a picture ;-)
Such a beautiful finish Marly! I love your little sampler.
