Finish

 Bingo!

Ain't she sweet?  3.5 x 5.5 inch.  I love the dmc 3831, and preferred the date in the corner rather than the birds.

Enjoy the first fricking weekend of August.

Finish

 Just posted to IG.

Spot is finished with really crappy mini poms, can't remember seller.  DMC on 40 count.

I added more stitches to the top branch to make it heavier, left off the crescent moon and stars also the outer border.

He and Spot the Horse can hang together.

He's adorable and I would like to do a calico or orange tabby facing opposite to hang with him.  Should not be too difficult.

Not ready to explain the rescue situation yet.  That is difficult.

I have chosen five small projects and plan to kit them this afternoon.  Rather than delay a new start while deciding on one, it seems a good time to start them all.  Spot said to stop pussyfooting around.

Enjoy your weekend!

Finish

 Just posted to Instagram.

Bernarda Bellon
The Wishing Thorn
4" x 5" on 40 count with dmc.

Two rows removed from design, minor changes.

Hope you had a safe 4th.  I have never heard thunderous, disturbing, scary, finale as this one.  Unbelievable sound level.

Finish

Benezet Alphabet
Cross Stitch Antiques

Width was changed, border was changed, bottom row was changed to date and doodads, colors were changed.
 Routine for me.

A bag finish, leather strip at bottom, leather strap, holding turkey and pheasant feathers?

We'll see!

The dye blend on this was Rit taupe with a touch of Marigold.  The gold is quite strong so very little is needed.

Finish!

My first 46 count.  I found that the weft (?) threads (vertical to selvage) are shredding, breaking, even without much stress.  The warp threads (horizontal) are still breaking with a tug but are stronger than the weft.  I am sure this is not the norm with this count, and am anxious to stitch on a different piece.

So, this sweet sampler from Scarlet Letter will be added to the pile for final finishing.  It is just under 5" x 2.5".

Folded in half, a darling little needle book.

If mylar or mat board inserted, I can stand it half open as a miniature book, both sides visible.  Sounds good!

Yesterday's mail delivered this market release that hasn't seemed to get much buzz.  I recently saw a chart with these same letters in red on a sampler, different designer.  Striking, and hope to finish as a book/journal cover, may be a perfect fit.  The 1840 miniature standing with it .... yepper!

I really like this sliding photo frame lidded box and have searched for others, perfect to stand for display.  I purchased two smaller ones years ago, they are hiding and will appear one day.

I hope everyone that celebrates has a wonderful Easter.

Be well, be safe.

Drum or roll

 Snow.  Need I say more.

So here's the little fat drum.  Very difficult to get a good photo of the gingham pattern or depth of red which is much stronger than it appears here.  Added the pen for scale ( blue tape identifies Frixion for me).

One error when adding that top border - there should be two stitches together in the center which would allow the end stitches to fit into the side border pattern.  Added a few additional stitches creating a solid area at edge, may remove and leave the error. Also increased the side border height by two.

Option to finish as a pin roll, no?  If I make another with the charted fabric, one drum, one roll?  Or do the complete sampler on the straw gingham?

Larger than I would like if 28 count gingham is used.... thinking about it.

Did you notice my healing thumb crack in previous post?  Thanks for recommendations, Cetaphil crack healing balm and also the lotion are at local walmart, but I am ordering on amazon since ... you know ..... white crap.  Tried all the others so I'm anxious to get these, but will still use the glove finger.  Keeps the bandage/balm in place and water out.

Ollie is walking just fine this morning.  He has that type of very thick hair that snow sets on, doesn't seem to penetrate.  Like a deer.  One (deer) that we are feeding was either born with an unusable leg or was injured.  It just dangles and she is so thin, shunned and alone.  An unexpected video clip when scrolling IG showed adult elephants throwing and shunning a baby and I couldn't sleep last night.  Probably not for a while.  The photos of bloodied dogs that people deliberately injure, claim the animal is stray and needs help, and then offers links to send money for treatment is a new disgusting scam. Some are legit and if inclined, verify the group by entering their name/link in another tab.

Hope your day goes well.  Stay safe folks.
