No reply

Everyone?

I was able to respond to only a few before, but now no one at all!  What happened?  I know I replied to Catherine and Vera before, and just realized their no-reply status.

I didn't have to visit the ER.  My fig trees are in huge pots, saturated and heavy from rains. I lifted/slid them off their trolleys over the threshold to get them into the garage (frost warning).  I really was concerned for a few hours.  Need to get action from the snotty cardio office.  Been dealing with inept or lazy people for too long.  And when did dressing like a couch potato for the office become the norm?  A pair of black leggings and a tunic tee cost less than joggers and a hoodie.  Comb your hair! Good grief.  If you see anyone well dressed they look out of place. Bank employees at one time were some of the best dressed and decades ago were paid little.  Now, you can't tell they work there. I guess the younger employees wear the same whatever they're doing.  My teachers always looked professional, here they wear capris with tees and flip flops.  I'm done. But it irks me.  Neatly dressed, not sloppy, looking groomed, does not take that much effort.  A small local bank with four employees is the exception.

Catherine, I can't get near those cats.  Had traps out for months and they ignore them.  They are here for food, have shelter when they want it, but live with a colony, not sure which.  Missy hates them both through the door.

The watermelon drink has nothing but a dash of salt and squirt of Splenda if it lacks flavor.  I did the entire melon and stored in the fridge.  Can't wait to do a cantaloupe.

Now about that humbug.  Stacy Nash got me again. I don't have her Rose Hill Farm sampler chart since I am only doing smalls, but look what's butting in to steal the spotlight...

On 36 count, a different closure stitch, do I need to purchase a large project to get the tiny bonus?  I moved an 80# pot and survived, so hell yeah.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

Have a wonderful day.

Happy Mother's Day to you. It counts-- you mothered your sister and relatives and you deserve the title.
It wasn't too long ago that the postal workers here wore uniforms. Now he/she pulls up to my mailbox in pajamas and scuffs. My nephew by marriage is manager of a grocery store; he has had to fire so many employees because they can't- or won't- understand the simple directive of "plain black pants or skirt/plain white polo or blouse/black closed-toe shoes".

I've not been able to reply to any comments for a long time already. (I can hit reply and type away and send, but all commenters have been morphed into "no-reply" commenters despite their settings meaning they will never the reply.) So, I now forward the email containing the comment to the person with my reply. Fine and dandy if (1) I have the person's email in my contacts and (2) I REMEMBER to forward vs. reply. I fear several people have not received my replies b/c I just hit reply like i used to and forgot to forward instead. I 100% totally agree about the lack of dress etiquette these days. When I was at the "The Firm," I had to wear long sleeves (if short sleeves, needed to have a jacket), no bare legs, no open toe shoes, etc. Suits were preferred. Obviously, a bit different given the industry but still. I'm shocked by what offices/workplaces allow these day. That SN design is ADORABLE!!! Enjoy your day - hope your fig trees survived.

Love your humbug and don't see what is wrong with it. The new one from SN is beautiful and the soft colors are very pretty.
Take care, Truus from Holland

SN designs are always so beautiful. Can't wait to see your version of the humbug!! There is a lack of dress etiquette as well as a lack of almost any kind of etiquette these days. She days I just feel so old and cranky!

I'm with you on the lack of dress code in businesses. Unless they are wearing a store shirt or uniform, it is hard to tell the employees from the customers at times. What a cute humbug with bits of the SN design! Happy Monday, Marly!

A while back, a couple of years ago?, there were blog posts about how the commenters could fix their no-reply situation. I suspect there's been a change happening behind the scenes again at google again. As in - it's not something at your end preventing replies.

I have a Brown Turkey fig tree in a pot, not 80 pounds worth though, perhaps "only" 50. Even so, it has been in the house full time. But I think this is the year it goes outside in the ground full time. I do get a tiny fig now and then, but not sure it's worth it. I used to have a potted fig that stayed outside over winter. It would die back on top every year, but it re-sprouted from the base every time. For while anyway. Perhaps this one in the ground will last a while, especially if I remember to get out and cover it in the fall. We're on the border of zone 5a& 5b.

Good luck with the cardiology stuff.

Well, interesting as these blogger reply issues continue for you, on the last update, I lost my entire dashboard, including two blogs I worked from there. No matter how I tried, nada. I gave up.
That said, I like your little humbug, too cute.

Of course, many people claim that the pandemic shutdown confirmed that they did not need to "overdress!" Seriously? Lazy. Slobs. I know someone who hires for a large international company. She was interviewing a young man for a beginner-level accountant position. He had just graduated with a 4-year business degree, in the middle of his class. He showed up in tattered blue jeans and a ratty t-shirt, I'm not sure about the shoes. He was about 15 minutes late, plopped down in front of her, and proceeded to play around on his phone. He would not look directly at her while she reviewed his AI-generated resume, and then his phone rang. Then he said he had to go home, his mother had dinner ready, and she would be upset if he was late, he did offer to return the next day, at the same time. She told him not to bother. Is it too late to rescue civility and common sense?

Hi Marly: So happy you did not have to visit the ER. I have had problems with email and comments, its such a hassle.
I love, love the humbug so sweet. Here at our clinic in our small town they dress like professional's, it makes me feel like I am going into a great clinic where the staff care about you and themselves, I am not bragging just saying they really are nice and professional, it would make me question them if they dressed down.

Hugs my friend
Catherine
