That moody cloud

I started this several times, attempting to position that purplish cloud.  I had the bird outline stitched and removed, tried to keep it centered on the linen piece, but his body covered too much.

Glad this last position worked because I can't go any lower.  I know to leave well enough alone (this time), adding more grayish purple may lose the look of clouds and just become a background.

This floss has shredded three times already, expect there to be more.  Because it's black?  No noticeable variegation in this Mascara color at all, could have chosen 301.

Have a good day.

Is that the linen you dyed or one of the Lallybrochs? Whatever it is, its gorgeous and SOO perfect for this design. You are so much conscientious about placement and such than me. I just plop things on and hope that (1) I don't misjudge and run my stitches too close to an edge of the linen and (2) I don't waste too much linen by doing 1.

Very pretty fabric, I love the mottling. The way you're positioning the pattern will be really enhanced, I look forward to seeing it emerge.
I've given up on WDW. It's thin, tangles readily and shreds easily, and rarely is the color variation discernable in anything other than the brightest white light.

Such a pity that this thread gives so much problems. Hope you will find another thread that will do the job.

Shredding thread has got to be frustrating. I'm finding that with some of my DMC - I have thought perhaps it was because it was so old...but I don't know. I can't stitch on mottled fabric - it never looks right to me, but this piece is going to be fabulous Marly!

If you run out of Mascara, let me knowl I have lots. It's older, but it's still Mascara.

Sorry you are running into the shredding problem, Marly. Aside
from that, I hope you can carry on in your usual gallant pace and
lick the challenge. Looking forward to seeing your finished victory.
