2025 Finish #32

Love my berries thread choice.

Dark brown mini poms are perfect, but one is quite flimsy and the other can't be removed from the flange.

A few things ....

My favorite littles are hung on cabinets so I can enjoy them all day.

The tree I almost threw out is also a favorite every year on the fridge.

Freed from its frame, bows, ornanents and buttons, fringed the edges.  Looks like it needs pressed!

Hubs loves this wire tree, I purchased simple shiny bulbs and they reflect the lights very nicely.

Missing Carole as much as the day we lost her.  Not up to hosting the family, will get together for cookies and the kids' gifts.  Last year, a simple get together, I made the poppy seed sliders and their favorite mac 'n cheese, took it to Carole's house.  Tracy had paper plates stacked, no napkins, no flatware set out, no cold drinks, no other food.  And she kept mentioning she wanted to take the kids to visit her dad, which they had all day to do.  I will tell you what I found out at Thanksgiving dinner, totally shocked, soon.

Have a good day folks.

Holidays of celebration are bittersweet when we are missing our loved ones. When we are gone it's hard to know what traditions, memories and gatherings will continue or go by the wayside. We can pray and cherish all that is dear to us, above all try to find peace. Easy to say, hard to do. I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy healthy New Year ahead.

Your MerryChristmas is a beauty from your fabric choice to your berries. They look dimensional. I’m enjoying seeing your decorations too. So tasteful. Marly, I’m sorry to read of the pain you still carry with your dear sister’s passing. That was all such a difficult time. And I’m sorry you are still dealing with the actions of that side of the family.

"Merry Christmas" turned out wonderful. Just love that design. What a fun idea for all those littles hanging on your cabinet doors. I have no idea what I'm doing for Christmas yet. I do know the kids are coming Christmas Day...and I also know I have no clue what I will make. Sorely lacking in the gift department as well. I know well about the pain of missing someone dearly loved. It was 3 years ago today that I lost my mom.

That finish is truly lovely. Your beautiful stitching makes it appear almost 3-D. I did a big pattern-and-supplies order in the spring and have tried to stick to not buying anything new until a year has passed, but that pattern is so tempting.
There's no time limit on grief. I sometimes find myself with a stone in the pit of my stomach and tears in my eyes, missing my grandparents so much. And they passed nearly 25 years ago. Family can be so hard. My husband has had to step back from one of his sisters, she is such a mess and a misery. It just wasn't worth his anger and hurt to try and maintain contact.

Very pretty finish! Again, your color choice - awesome. Things found out at Thanksgiving?! That cued up some impending doom music in my head!
No tree at here this year. I don't want to deal with taking it down since I don't know how well I'll be moving about. I hope the memories of Carole at holidays are good ones.

Your finish is so lovely, Marly--perfect colors! And I love seeing your Christmas Santas and trees. Something about the entire Christmas season seems to bring missing our loved ones to the surface. I can't even look at a photo of my mom without tearing up these days (and she's been gone 5 1/2 years now!). So, missing your dear sister is to be expected--it shows how especially much you loved her. ♥

Marly, your fabric and thread choices are perfect for Merry Christmas! It’s such a pretty design. Thank you for sharing some of your decor. I’ve been watching for the postman Santa! I’m sorry that you’re missing Carole so. I think something simple for that family is needed. You don’t need the added stress. Cherie in WI
