2025 Finish #3
Not much larger than the last finish, this is 2.5" x 4" on 46 with dmc 347. The motifs felt purple, used 3835.
Many antique samplers left off the J as did this Eliz Laidman, and adding it would have caused a problem in that row's length. Adding the U and Z worked well.
I need to start finishing these smalls.
Hope you are all doing well.

Not eaZy
Well. I added the missing U and the Z to this alphabet. U was easy, Z was not. Not! I stitched it every way possible and decided on this.
One band on the bottom to match the top, and will then decide if crown motifs will be red or other to finish this.
This has taken twice as long on this 46 count than before. Tuesday I am returning to the eye doctor. That laser repair may have caused cataracts to increase quickly, and also the severe dryness. You would think not being able to produce a tear during a cry is the highest level of dryness. Nope. The burn, the blur, the drops that are now $25 lasting two days. Switched to an Advantage plan and the claim that they must cover what Medicare does, is crap. At their discretion in many cases, and they will not cover the Prokera lens. Medicare paid for each eye every six months.
Soon to be finished.... what's next?

A match
No, I'm not burning a project. This is about two reds.
One that was used for a start and shown in Jan. 17 post, and the other that I used from the E and on, when I picked up that start again two days ago.
Can you see a difference?
Since finishing the last tiny sampler and being too lazy to rid the area of remnants, dmc 347 was handy. Hmm. Looks exactly like the thread used in the non-routine alphabet project. Stitch a few letters, perfect. Obviously 347.
Nope.
That prior post claims 3831 is the red thread in that start. Even under sunlight, no discernible difference in my skeins. 3831 is slightly brighter, more to orange than pink, but only when studied under certain lighting. If I hadn't gone back to that Jan. post to see when originally started and set aside, never would have known.
So if you don't have both in stash, use the one that you do! Since Janice mentioned 347 was difficult to find, if someone is having the same issue I would be glad to send a skein. I have two to share.
This project is from Eliz Laidman, using one of the alphabets, narrowing width, and changing to red. Stash is loaded with small red samplers. Just find a section/alphabet you like, pick a red, change size to desired small.
Enjoy your day.

????
I have seen many small antique samplers in red (not charts) online over the years. And noted several of them for future stitching.
This is one.
The outline and borders of most consisted of several rows of various stitches, as simple as running stitch to detailed specialty. Substantial for such tiny samplers, like mimicking a frame. This one has five or more, mostly running stitch. When those are added, this may measure about 3" on 40 count.
February.
Hope it's a good month for you.
