Size matters

Some charts are printed on superb quality paper, perfect clarity, large size and easily read, even colored options.  Others are the standard, most requiring an enlarged working copy.

But this.

I couldn't believe its size for the twelve thread colors that are swirling this design.  Actual chart is 3.25 x 5.5, about the size of it finished. So I enlarged 25%, still difficult (for me) to see those symbols, any higher will blur.

I will try to color but that will be difficult to keep confined to tiny graph squares.  Will use the Dazor to read because one way or another, I will stitch this beauty!!

Eventually.

I downloaded the pdf from istitch of her Mini Band I and II after seeing Melinda of Merry Wind Farm post her band samplers on spools.  Swoon!  But since I lost patience or ambition for any larger project, chose these two minis.  I will stitch over two, not one as charted, and can use my short spools for them.  Single color, tiny, another easy project.

Enjoy your evening.

2025 Finish #9

Tiny thimble purse, changed the pale pink 950 that was completely ghosted to dmc 452 and the red to dmc 22.  The "flurries" or tiny scattered stitches may not be added.  Never cared for them in any design but if added, would be a shade lighter (453).

I think 452 is a seldom used color, but it's such a soft not lavender, not gray.

I used 451 and 452 years ago for the flowers of my pear X and was really pleased.

Wish me luck constructing the purse.

Missy with her snarky glare lounging on her warm pad.

Have a good day.

2025 Finish #8

 Done.
Floss bag for size reference.

Crabasses usually don't care for frilly florals and trims, but I am now searching charts for similar small motifs I can use for a tiny finish.

Also ordered Hands on Designs three berry charts.

Who am I?

Next

To be completed when the damn vertigo settles.

Heartstring Samplery book, stitching the three very small florals.  The dmc did not look like the photo so I changed several threads.

These two are happy with their food only for the first half of the bag.  Try another ..... nope.

Have not been able to trap either.

Enjoy your day,

the dizzy crabass.

The unknown chart

Hey.  What's happening?

I have been bombarded with hundreds of bot comments from a data place and it takes quite a while to remove them, so I changed the commenting.

Anyway, watched Sully Stitches this evening and one of her previous finishes became a must have.  How do I find it?

Most of you may already employ this search method.  When I spot something in a photo, I right click, scroll the drop down menu, and then choose search with google lens, bingo.

But videos take more work.  I watch floss tube and browse on my laptop.  No phone, even the tablet is limiting compared to options and features on an operating system.  So I stop the video, grab the tablet, and hit the Image Search button, taking a photo of the image on the laptop.

And that leads to this result of that search on the tablet or your android phone.  Not sure how I-things work.

Going further I can see other similar images, but it gave me the info I needed to order the chart.  I would have never found this chart without this method.  The Etsy site it lists was sold out as most shops are, but given the title and designer I did a routine search and found shop listings.  Two had stock.

Some really old chart searches may not offer an answer, but most times I've been directed to what I need.  I've also used this method to get info about old jewelry pieces and some decorative pieces.

The right click works on FB posts (avoids click bait recipes) and almost any photo or image, except on IG and videos.  The image search icon in the address bar works for any photo you take online or not.  I've identified bugs with it!

Just thought I'd mention this, may help in the hunt for a chart or design.  Probably not anything you didn't already know but I got excited about finding that chart.

Have a good weekend.

Royal School of Needlework

 Hi folks.

The laptop I purchased almost two years ago is finally being used and the old one whose keyboard no longer works must be recycled.  If I had known how easy it is to transfer old to new, I would have done it long ago.  My tablet is 15+ years old and also creating problems.  In moving bookmarks and deleting years of clutter, I found this site in my sewing folder.  I haven't taken the time for a thorough browse but there is a great amount of stitches to learn.  Thanks to Periwinkle (Sian), many of us are taking an interest in embroidery.  She really made me laugh when she commented about the older thin Weeks linen saying that you could shoot peas through it.

There are so so many tubers to watch, but what makes some stand out and really become favorites?  What they feature?  Their personality and presentation?  Voice?  Mannerism?  Some receive negative comments regarding their haul, but I shop their haul.  Seeing what others are acquiring when there is so much I would not see otherwise, is close to my favorite part of the videos.  It's a video about needlework and stash is a part of it.

So here's the link if you're interested for the Royal School of Needlework.

https://rsnstitchbank.org/wall

This will take you to the wall showing every stitch on its site, and clicking on them opens to photo instructions for creating each one. Many options to search and explore hundreds.  Just a snippet shown here.

I miss getting magazines and refuse digital reading. So I decided to look for a few deals with EASY cancellation of auto renew.  Found them.  I got Real Simple for $12yr without auto renew. Country Home for $15yr with a free year of BH&G, and a bonus Traditional Home in print for $8yr.  And I got Country Living online and print with full access to prior issues for $14yr.  I refuse to pay close to $10 or some even higher for one issue in a store.  I know they have changed over the years but I still enjoy magazines, and subscriptions will help keep them around.
The crabass is pleased.

That's all folks.
