2025 Finish #10

 I used dmc 869 which looked best on this greenish Heartland 36 count over two.  Red, blue, not so much.  The second one will be a darker red.

Many changes, so easy to do on this style.  Minor ones for symmetry and a few letter changes.

This has no appropriate spool size yet so I'm considering hanging from a ribbon, or rolling and secured with ribbon.  PTP linen has enough heft and with muslin lining should be fine rolled.

Not sure how to go about my chart downsize, never sold on the stash sites and may list here.  Majority are OOP R&R originals that are hand drawn.  

I ordered a piece of Cactus Wren from market, gorgeous, so when stock was replenished, ordered another small.  Not the same.  Dammit.  Three other small pieces ordered for color check where not what I expected.  Not bad, just not for me.  Thank you 123 for offering those smalls.

Why is it...

that one hundred very short rows are a comfortable stitch, and just two very long rows are maddening? 

I'm getting rid of charts that I will never stitch, and I still have that Project Portfolio from Courtland Creek of decades ago.  Things need to go.

Start of another week, seems like I am constantly filling my weekly pill organizer.  Time is flying.

Strike up the band

 Mini band sampler II by iStitch, downloaded from her website.  I also have I, both the same size.

I'm working over two on 36 count, it's 1.5 " wide.  Chart calls for over one which then fits in a Tim Holtz locket but I plan to wrap around a small spool, tie with ribbon.  Or attach a ribbon to the top and let it hang.

Something different and these short rows are a breeze to stitch.  So easy to add your own row of motifs or band.

If you're comparing the chart to my work, yea, I changed a few things.

EDIT - This is the website iStitch.  Her blog lists all charts available on the left side of the page, scroll down to see all.  You can click on each to view photo.  Some bands are very long, I chose Mini I and II.  Free charts also featured.

Size matters

 Some charts are printed on superb quality paper, perfect clarity, large size and easily read, even colored options.  Others are the standard, most requiring an enlarged working copy.

But this.

I couldn't believe its size for the twelve thread colors that are swirling this design.  Actual chart is 3.25 x 5.5, about the size of it finished. So I enlarged 25%, still difficult (for me) to see those symbols, any higher will blur.  

I will try to color but that will be difficult to keep confined to tiny graph squares.  Will use the Dazor to read because one way or another, I will stitch this beauty!!

Eventually.

I downloaded the pdf from istitch of her Mini Band I and II after seeing Melinda of Merry Wind Farm post her band samplers on spools.  Swoon!  But since I lost patience or ambition for any larger project, chose these two minis.  I will stitch over two, not one as charted, and can use my short spools for them.  Single color, tiny, another easy project.

2025 Finish #9

Tiny thimble purse, changed the pale pink 950 that was completely ghosted to dmc 452 and the red to dmc 22.  The "flurries" or tiny scattered stitches may not be added.  Never cared for them in any design but if added, would be a shade lighter (453).

I think 452 is a seldom used color, but it's such a soft not lavender, not gray.  

I used 451 and 452 years ago for the flowers of my pear X and was really pleased.

 Done.  

Floss bag for size reference.

Crabasses usually don't care for frilly florals and trims, but I am now searching charts for similar small motifs I can use for a tiny finish.  

Also ordered Hands on Designs three berry charts.
