If you can, consider donating or becoming a member of the Wounded Warrior Project.
Take a minute to listen and remember. If you've lost a loved one, my deepest sympathy and gratitute to you and all who have grieved for them. If you haven't, try to imagine what these families endure.

Have a safe Memorial Day, in large part because of these souls.

What a beautiful post, Marly. Thank you for that. Happy Memorial Day, and may we all remember why we celebrate this day.
Thank you for taking the time this morning to honor our fallen heroes. What beautiful, beautiful photographs...a gentle reminder of who we should be honoring everyday of our lives...and thanking God that we live in such a blessed and wonderful country.
You made me cry. What a beautiful post hun...thank you..
Hugs, Shar
Marley, I am sobbing at your post.
Yesterday, David and I were priviledged to meet the Wounded Warrior softball team. I was humbled by these young men (some younger than my soldier) who have lost legs and limbs to protect ME.
We support the Wounded Warrior project, it's the best $20 I spend monthly. I wish we as a country would do more to support our troops and those who come home broken.
God bless you, Marley for your beautiful post.
Thank you for the beautiful post and pictures as well as the links, Marly!

Ahhh....what an amazingly touching post my friend. Now I sit here all teary-eyed, with not an insightful thing to say. You go me. Got me good. But that Hawkeye - now that makes me blubber all over myself. Red, White & Blue Hugs ~ Robin
So many have sacrificed so much.
Never forget

Thank you for the beautiful and touching post. We certinally should be thankful each and everyday for all those who serve our county and all who have lost a loved one while doing so.

Thank you, Marly. I just wish our young people better understood the sacrifices that have been made for them.
Beautiful post Marly. In July we do a wonderful show in Boalsburg Pa. which is one of the towns that claim to be the birthplace of Memorial Day. They have a wonderful statue there celebrating Memorial Day.We actually have the show at the Military Museum . You are right, it doesn't really matter WHERE it began, just that it did and continues to honor all servicemen and women.--Jan
Thank you for this wonderful post. Having gone through our Son's 2 tours and our DIL 's 1 tour. I am so thankful today that they made it back. Our thoughts are with the families of those who did not.
Thanks Marly.
Thank you for reminding us all of the true meaning of today, Marly--your post is very touching...

What a beautiful post Marly. Makes you remember that today isn't all about barbeques and hot dogs - but for the sacrifices made by our brave soldiers.
Thank you for the reminder - every soldier deserves our utmost respect and gratitude for their service.
Lovely photos, Marly. Thank you for sharing. Days of Memorial or Remembrance or ANZAC Day (for us Aussies) are so important to the fabric of a decent society.
