Greetings! This will be short. My wrist acts up and my husband needs to yank it to stop the pain and allow movement. That's not working tonight and typing isn't easy. But I wanted to show my box and my next project.
I attached elastic to the lid for holding my DMC color guides and a few incidentals. We added a lid support to hold it open which is definitely needed.
A close-up of the paint finish.
I just received the last of my R&R (Dyeing to Stitch) order today from Homespun Samplar, and I was thrilled. Why? Because instead of going through all those charts to choose the next project, the US postal service decided for me.
Mary Moseley it is. Another sweet and simple marking sampler.
And finally - Blogger fixed the glitch and I can upload photos in compose mode. Thank you Blogger. It's about time.
Miss Faye stitched my Sandy Hook Remembrance chart and I will show you her wonderful finish soon.
To those I need to email, please allow a few more days until typing is easier. Until then, stay warm, stay safe.
Welcome to new followers and thank you to everyone for visiting.
I truly appreciate and value your support and friendship.
Thank you.

That box is gorgeous. My Mum used to call me Flossy too ~ it seems ever such a long time ago, thanks for bringing that memory back to me.
Love it ;) sorry you are having so much trouble with your wrist! Feel better ;)
Ouch on the wrists..... And yes, the stitchies complete and the final finish should be done very soon.... A perfect sentiment...... When you and the Mister go in the biz of the Flossie boxes, remember, my names at the top of the list!!!! LOVE IT!!!!
Flossy, love your box! I hope your wrist feels better soon. I have the pain further up my arm (forearm). It's the down side of getting older!

Marly, that box is amazing. Sometime when your hand is better, I'd love to know how you got such a great finish. I want to do some frames but just don't seem to be able to get the antiquing right. Take care of that wrist!

Love your grouping in your header picture!! Wonderful display. Flossy's box turned out terrific, like there was ever a doubt. Nice job. Have a wonderful Wednesday!
Flossy's box is fabulous!!! And now that you have the technique down pat... you can start cranking them out and selling them! :-) I know i'd LOVE to own one! ;-) I hope your wrist gets back to normal quick... nothing like having an injury to hold you back from doing stuff you enjoy... The PO delivered Nan's Ohio sampler yesterday... can't wait to get started on it!

Your husband and you are quite talented. Great job! I am praying for you.♥
I hope there isn't any bruising where my lower jaw just hit the desk. I am in awe of Flossy's Box! Absolutely gorgeous. Maybe I missed it in a previous post, I'll go look...but how did you get the paint to look like that?
WOW!!
Your floss box is perfect!! I really is nice! Perfect place for all your floss. Hope that your wrist is feeling better soon!
Well Flossy, The box is to die for...Where can I get one? I know you made it, but there has got to be someone out there that can, (with your permission) replicate it. I love the finish and the black over barn red is my favorite too. This part I can do.
Mary Moseley is a lovely choice. I am awaiting for Nan's new pattern for my next attempt. I love the way they showed it finished ... perfectly primitive.
Thanks so much for again sharing, I always enjoy my visits.
Peace & Blessings, Barb
Oh my goodness Marly that box is divine.
Great name you picked for it too :)
I love the paint finish and what you have done with the inside.
Another great sampler design to add to your collection.
Margaret
Hi again ... I just had an after thought ... Do you make these boxes?
Hope you are feeling better too.
Barb
"Flossy" looks beautiful! I love how you attached the DMC guides. Have you seen the new ones? They only have "photos" of the floss and not the snippets of actual floss in them. So glad I've got the "original" ones!
I hope your wrist feels better. I've been dealing with de Quarvain's tendonitis for a couple of years now ~ not fun. I hope you get some relief from yours.
Thank you for sharing such a beautiful box ~ very inspiring!
The box turned out beautiful! Thanks for sharing along the way from start to finish. I sure hope your wrist gets to feeling better. ~Ann
I'm in awe, Marly--the box looks like a lovely antique that has been around for a hundred years or more! You should be so proud of your husband and your efforts!!
Good grief--your wrist problem sounds very annoying and painful. Can't imagine how you're getting any stitching done. Hope it gets better very soon...
The floss box is fantastic--looks like a piece of furniture! Ho lucky you are to be able to create such a nice piece.
Sorry the wrist is acting up again (or still). Hope it will be better soon.

Oh my goodness, Marly! I absolutely LOVE your box! The paint finish...perfect! Very clever idea adding the elastic bands to hold your charts, etc.
I'll say it again...whenever you decide to go into business ........
I just found your blog. I have stitched for years and love samplers. I will enjoy following you.
I hope you feel better real soon.
The box is beautiful and is a great way to store your floss. Beautiful work.
