Sneak peek

Hope you're all set up for a great weekend!  Just a very quick post of a preview of what I've been doing.  Other than blowing my nose, coughing, and judging cat races.

Susannah's first chart page is completed and I can now see her size.  Very similar in errors to Sophia and I'm liking these two very primitive reproductions. Susannah French is also an R&R from Dyeing to Stitch.

And here's progress on my floss box.  It's really difficult to design a wood piece without a prototype.  We're correcting dimensions as we go along and this morning I'm finally deciding on a final plan.  Then it will be - do I crackle, just age edges, or stencil and sand?   One thing at a time!

Enjoy your weekend!
Thanks for visiting!

Susannah is pretty! It's funny, I like these marking samplers you stitch, but I don't think I'd have the patience to stitch them myself. Not into alphabet stitching. lol! And your floss box!!!! Wow! Nice! I so need something like that myself. Good luck with it!

That is a very impressive floss box.

Suz is looking good. Will the box be for DMC to replace bags and envelopes, or for other fibers?

I vote for ages edges. Stencil and sand sounds good too. Oh gosh...I know it will be gorgeous no matter what you decide. You are so talented there!

Can't wait till you finish the box, so I can get someone in my household to make me one!! Ha! New marking sampler looks great! DTS probably is loving that you are doing them! Did you join the Ladies Prim Society? I did! Can't wait! Threadwork Primitives (Nan) is going to preview her piece on her blog soon! Hugs!

I do like how that floss box is coming along! I would just stain the entire piece... but, I'm a plain kind of gal that loves the woodgrains... lol! If a more designer looking piece is what you're after... then stencil the sides.

Susannah's looking good. I love how wacky it is. Maybe I can persuade Ann at DTS to send me that one too.
I was thinking the other day.... I go to Columbus NJ all the time to have lunch with my bestie....Are you around that area? Love to meet you.

Hi Marly! Love your floss box...I'm thinking there is a great market out there for them!!!

Loving the new sampler you're working on. Marking samplers is another "collection" I'd like to have someday...I just need to figure out how to add to my lifetime to get all these done!

Take care of yourself...hope you feel better soon...January thaw coming to Pittsburgh next week!

Hope you feel better soon! I'm patiently waiting to see your finished floss box because I might ask for the dimensions. My hubby loves to do wood work and this looks like a great project for him.

Love the marking samplers - just my style. I'm waiting anxiously to see your floss box. I use the same bags and keep them on large rings. Since I have 3 1/2 rings full of floss, I've been thinking of something different as I think they are a pain. I've had them this way since I started stitching in 1986 - it's time for a change. ~Ann

Sorry to hear the bug has caught you, too, Marly. My husband just came down with it yesterday and is miserable... guess I might be next :(

Susannah is looking great as is your great floss box. I look forward to seeing how you finish it off...

Feel better soon :)
