Winner and loser

Good evening everyone.  I am announcing the winner of my fabric, posting the pear, and calling it quits for several days. I am the loser because I am on the rotten Windows 7 laptop and is the most annoying and messy operating system I've ever used.   You guessed it - my newly rebuilt Vista died again.  Lost it all.  My photos and files that I worked on recently were not backed up because I never thought a sudden crash would occur right after an expensive rebuild.  So it took me a little longer because I had to start over with Random to enter everyone again.  PARSLEY!  You are the winner.  I  found another piece of linen that is soft and I don't care for so it will also be in your package.  Please email with your address Parsley and I will mail right away.  Thank you to all for participating.  I was so surprised at the number of entries!
So before I throw this one out the window, I will show you my second start on Mary Moseley.  I changed the linen to a darker shade for the lighter floss and have only changed one color from the original.

And here is the February pear.  Hope you like it.   I will list it on the Pears page once I get around to a new computer.  Good grief.  If 7 is this bad, 8 must be worse.   I can't stand even posting because nothing works the same.  I'm showing this early because chances are, I won't be back until the week's end.  If you stitch this on a lighter linen, use a darker blue for the bird.

I had to rechart the pear and do the colors from memory, so if anyone finds an error, please let me know.
Until then, stay safe, keep stitching, thank you for visiting!
Hope to be back soon.

Oh, Marly, I am so sorry about your computer and I feel your pain. The hard drive on my desktop system died a week ago, and I am still realizing all the things I have lost because they were not backed up. I can't dwell on it because there's nothing I can do to recover the information, so says our computer guy. I have a new computer coming on Tuesday, and it will have Windows 8 on it. The computer guy shared a great tip with me. Go to www.ninite.com and scroll down to "utlilties". The very last one in the first column - "Classic Start" - is what we want. It will give us back our traditional start menus! I'll let you know how it works for me. (It better!)

Thank you, Marley. The pear design is lovely. A friend and I are stitching all the pears this year. We don't live near each other, so it is a fun long distance SAL. I'm sorry for all your computer troubles. I used to think car problems were the worst, but I think computer tops it!! Best Wishes for quick fixes.

Ohhh! This pear is gorgeous! Thanks so much!

I can relate to your computer frustrations as we have PC's at work that are dumping all the time. That's why I have an iMac at home... and I even converted my dh over to be a Mac enthusiast. He has a Macbook Pro. The only drawback would be some specialty software programs would not run on a mac.... though I am sure there are similar programs out there for mac. Anyways... that's my 2 cents... lol! ;-)

That is just not right. So much money wasted on the stupid computer. Brian backs up our files on a memory stick about once a month, just in case.

Thanks for the Feb Pear -- I love it! Congrats to Parsley too, lucky girl.

Sorry you're having so many computer problems. Your Vista and Win 7 must be very different than mine because I haven't noticed that much of a difference between the two I've used, except that Win 7 is so much faster.

Have a good weekend!
