Happy Birthday Sis

Today Carole is 76 and she is lucky to still be here.  It's already been seven weeks since her event.  There's 13 years between us.

I was browsing Silent Stitches to order Jane Ballard - the sampler I have always wanted, will never stitch, but have to have.  You can't copy any of the website photos or I would show a few, but if you have a thing for scissors, check out their Scissors page.  I also found a few designers unfamiliar to my aging mind.

One is The Traveling Stitcher, her blog is here.  I like her Long and Lean A&E and the new M A Badger 1870.  The photo is of the antique and I'm loving the red.

Today is calm and wet.  Lots of wind yesterday and a ton of leaves to blow, but I may end up with the rake since they were pounded into the grass by the rain.  After I make another trip to the Pet Store.  Squeak is eating anywhere from 4 to 6 cans of food a day.  And fussy!!!
I can't stop craving Panera's Autumn Squash soup and found a copycat recipe but haven't tried it yet.  The recipe is here.  I've seen others but they didn't have the pumpkin and I think that's what I'm loving in its taste.  I've never used curry and bought the small jar of Tone's brand to test it out.  Farmer's market Saturday and I'll grab some butternuts, roast, and freeze them for future soup.

All I got today!
Have a great day and thanks for visiting.

A very happy birthday is being wished for your sister, Carole.

There are thirteen years between my son and daughter.. My daughter has been asked if she was an "oops" but she wasn't. My son calls her a "miracle". She and my son have both been blessings to our family.

I'm going to have to get to Panera.. I sure could eat some squash soup today.. It's chilly, rainy, cloudy and miserable in my neck of the woods..

Blessings for Carole.. May she have many more happy, healthy birthdays..

Happiest Birthday Wishes to Carole! I haven't had Autumn Squash soup, but my neighbor has a pickup truck full of acorn and butternut squash and gave me several of each, so I'll have to check out the recipe you found.

Happy birthday to carol ! So glad squeak is doing well. What a turn around. Thanks for the recipe. I make a butternut pumpin soup also. But I cheat. My food store (stop and shop /giant ) has the butternut vegetable frozen in tiny chunks.(store brand) So I buy a few bags and just throw that in my soup. So easy lol. I cheat a bit. I'm all for easy cooking !!

Happy birthday to your sister. She looks like a very pretty big sister! And you look a little bit sassy in that picture! I made it to a store several hours away from here called LoneStar Mercantile just outside of Raleigh NC. Lovely store. I bought a primitive looking washstand from the mid 19th century, thanks to my hubby (he would not have chosen it as he likes "NEW"). And I found the uniform blue threads. Got two just in case. Now to find an alphabet sampler to use it on, all in one color. Thank you for the picture of you and your sister!

Happy birthday to your Sister. My Sister and I had a photo similar to yours in our peddle pushers :). Isn't the Silent Stitchers site wonderful. I often go in and dream about their scissors.

If you need any help with Jane, just give me a holler. You know where I am :). -Sandra.
