And my hands are full of paint. Yes indeedy. I have been going through the hassle again of painting the cupboards but I can't help it. If you aren't happy, change it. I'm too old to "live with it for a few years". This stuff really sticks to your hands if you're a messy painter (raise your hand if you are - mine is waving wildly) and when my little package came in the mail, I couldn't get the damn paint off fast enough.
Linen. Yes more linen. I was seeing mention of Birds of a Feather fabric and having never seen it, heard of it, or having a local source, I ordered clueless. Happy dance. Hard to do with swollen feet and toes but this was worth the pain. Usually I get color or texture that I don't care for but I like this. Not as much as my original stiff Rook, but we have to move on at some point and stop whining. Sparrow on the left. Sparrow!! Immediately ordered more in a different count. Plus, Meadow Lark. Who knew? I didn't. Stitchers without shops (we should have our own group and ban the fortunates) really miss out on a lot of designers, fabrics, and colors. I can picture a red santa on this brown but if not, I will have it. We all have that sickness of HAVING TO HAVE IT even if we don't use it. Don't we? Am I alone?
My Midge/Missy/Little Girl was sleeping outside the kitchen window I was painting. Bought the last pack of impatiens in my pink because some are not doing well.
Taking a paint break for the night, may do some stitching but painting has made my right hand stiff and sore. Too chilly to sit outside.
A few of you wanted to know what we were doing with legs on the cabinets and what I meant by the recess. Here it is. That toe kick area is usually the same finish as the cabinet, but the leg detail just blended in with everything painted the same. I've seen some painted black to recede but to me it's too obvious. So we stained the wood to match the floor and now that area isn't noticeable at all and the legs show up nicely. They will of course be painted to match the cabinets.
Carole is finally hooked up to the correct monitoring device. She's anxious to get Mark's Explorer but we haven't picked out a new car yet. We're very bad at making decisions. His is a 2005 with 55,000 miles. Mine is a 2003 with 50,000. We need to get out more.

I'm lucky enough to have a hubby that won't "let" me paint anymore so I get to supervise and complain that he's not doing it right, lol. I'm anxious to see what you stitch on the new fabric. Glad Carole has the correct device now & pray she's doing well.

I've never tried BOAF linen. Looks pretty! I appreciated your description of the recessed toe kick and how you handled it. Works very nicely! I'm not too messy a painter. I think it's more that I hate getting paint on my hands than anything else. Clothing on the other hand. lol!

I am a very, very, as in ruin carpet painter, but I love to paint walls and a happy wall painter :)! Not the trim or cabinets or much else happy painter though. Once I was painting the walls in a room for the umpteenth time trying to get a color I could live with, step down from the ladder but missed one or three of the rungs because I am a blonde (no offense to other blondes but I sometimes match the cliches), ended up tipping the ladder and the tray filled to the top with paint on the carpet. Next time I did the same thing in another room but luckily the cloth was under the ladder completely! I am going to white walls since I can't seem to live with any other color on them. Looks good in other people's home, just not mine! That kitty is so beautiful. Lovely picture.
Glad to hear Carol is doing better. Just hope she continues to improve. I LOVE your cabinets and linen. Could you please tell me where you bought it? I have no choice but to order all mine so love it when someone post that they found some that is worth the money. Enjoy your summer STAY OFF THOSE FEET so they will heal. I bought some pink inpatients from Walmart that are not filling out like I had hoped they would.. Squirrels have planted corn kernels in the pots and now corn is coming up along with maple trees from the "dang" seeds that have fallen from the trees. Have to keep plucking them out.
Missy looks so peaceful and contented.. Pretty girl.
I'm now driving a 2007 Santa Fe (Hundai) that my son gave me when he got his new car.. It has 89,000 + miles on it but I love it. He put the mileage on it. I did have a Ford Aerostar van that I loved too.
I'm glad Carole has been fixed up with the correct device. Now, it sounds like she's ready to travel. So glad !

I am married to a carpenter/contractor... I don't paint! I tried once... he couldn't stand it... and took over! Fine by me! I have painted craft stuff, and I enjoy that. Your cabinets look nice with the toe kicks... It is a different look from any I have seen (again, spousal influences)--but, will you have to clean under them now? Hubby drives a 2004 Explorer that just went to 56K, and I drive a 2005 Town and Country van that just topped 77k! We are all doing great, as far as keeping the mileage down!

I do not paint, I walk into a room that has been painted and somehow I have paint on me! I am great at prep though, I wash walls and woodwork before husband paints. I think I have all you beat I have a 2006 with less than 15,000 miles. When I bring it in for oil change or some recall the mechanic always say " you should take your car for a ride " hahaha. My husband wants me to get a new car...but I do not know what i want, only not a SUV type. Whatever happened to small station wagons anyway? or do I want to get a mustang ( i had one in 1969, I loved that car) Since I cannot decide I do nothing! Love the toe kick!
Hi, Marly, it is so nice to hear good news about your sister. I don't have a LNS either. Remember how much fun it was before the internet to go to a shop and see all kinds of wonderful new samplers? I miss that. Your cabinets are looking great. Wish I could paint mine, but every time I bring it up my Mother has a fit. She loves her "walnut" cabinets.
