Greetings! How was your weekend? I'm hoping that these coming winter months fly by as fast as October and November have. Are you finishing or just starting decorating? I brought everything down, have it all over the place, and am starting to put more than half of it back. I'm glad I used the safety pin backs to hold the hangers on the stitched Santas because I think they may be in a bowl and not hung this year. Do you like bowl displays? I have mixed feelings because the majority of the stitchery is covered by another piece. I don't know. This Christmas I'm just not in a displaying mood. Is it because it's too much work the older I get or because my style continues evolving to simple and sparse? Then I browse Pinterest and PictureTrail and totally love the primitive homes that have a LOT on display yet it's simple! It's a talent and not as easy to achieve as it appears.
Carole is going back to the doc Monday, not much better after starting four prescriptions, one of which I thought was kind of dangerous. Never heard of the "pearls" before but they numb your lungs to prevent coughing. I'm concerned that the vicious cough could move or loosen the pacemaker leads which she is completely dependant on. Probably not, but we're going on two weeks of coughing so hard she chokes. It's bronchitis and the bug that is traveling the valley which takes weeks to recover. Her son Chris was there when I took food today and he is .... yep .....sick.
Hope to make the sweet cheese pierogis and stuffed cabbage this week. I don't think we have enough room in the freezer, the big fresh bird is still in there. I knew we should have planned on spaghetti.
Have a great week!
Thanks for visiting.

Oh è tutto bellissimo, adoro i tuoi Santa, ciao M.Grazia
I love all your stitched Santas . Hung or in a bowl they look great ! Hughs from France
Very nice Santas! I embroider snowflakes and have still a lot of other ideas decor for Christmas :)
I feel exactly the way you do, Marly. I think I have outdone myself, thought, this year.......all because of Pinterest and Facebook and the beautiful homes that I've seen.
I love your Santas.........and really like them hung, but in a bowl is nice too. I put some of my Fall ones in a wooden bowl, around a Luminara candle, so they could be seen better. I have a "pole" tree full of my PS Santas and Shiny Bright ornaments this year.. I wish I could leave it up forever.. Am thinking about having to put it all away in a few weeks.
I hope Carole's meds will take care of the bronchitis and cough quickly. She'll be in my prayers.

The boys look great! I am so far behind on decorating. I am praying for Carole.
I've been as busy as a one legged man in a butt kicking contest...so I haven't had as much time as I should take to comment on your posts, but I'm reading. I love your Santas. Your one of the inspirations that I had for a PS Santa tree. I guess I'm not a sparse and primitive person, I'm more of worn and homey with a little splash here and there, but I understand the appeal of clean lines, sparsity. I always am a little sparse on my winter decor...having come out of the holidays, its a clean plate, a new start and I like sparse.
I'm mixed like you...I like bowl fillers but agree...I feel everyone doesn't get to show their appeal equally.
Carole remains in my prayer journal and God knows and I pray. :)
Love the Santas - of course! I am in the process of making some for my house!! I hope you don't catch what your sister has!!
I love the way you are displaying the Santas. I am kind of in the same mood. No stairway garlands this year, I'm not in the mood for the way they shed! I am still suppose to minimize bending so stopping to pick up all the pine needles is not a great idea! I do hope you can avoid that awful bug!
I always look forward to the boys return, Marly! I've decorated less this year, too--just not enough time after our trip to S. America... I feel like I'll be lucky to get my tree up this year, but it WILL happen (all those ornaments I've made have to make an appearance for at least a few weeks out of the year :)
So sorry to read about Carole's continuing health issues... sure hope she feels better very soon and that you stay healthy yourself!
As always, you are an inspiration...I love how you have displayed the PS Santas. Hope Sis improves and all is well.
Peace for All
GOD BLESS AMERICA
Your guys are all wonderful, glad to see them out!!!!! Blessings Francine.
I hope the meds are helping Carole.
I still overdecorate...sigh. I will never learn.
Hugs :)

Marly-
YEAH tesselon pearls! Had a horrible nothing would stop it cough from an environmental exposure a few years back. Major narcotics finally stopped it but I was worried about side effects including potential for falls. Was switched to the pearls and they were wonderful - halted the cough completely and the only side efffect I had to deal with was being a bit drowsy but not so bad that I couldn't function. Was on them for three months and they were a God send. Hope they work as well for Carol.
The boys look fabulous!!
Pearls are just gelcaps, no worries. I hope that Carole is resting and improving.
Pirogies...yummo!
Wow love your santa display. I have been coughing for two months. I had pneumonia along with it. Just now the cough is getting better. Wish I would've known about those cough pearls. Doc gave me cough syrup which did nothing for that gagging cough. Hope everyone feels better soon.
I'm having a hard time decorating this year too - nothing I put out looks right. Last year I gave away half my decorations and this year I may give away more. Maybe it's age, I don't know. I'm just wanting a different look I guess. blessings, marlene
As always the Santa display is beautiful! Hope your family gets well!
I put up my tree last week, and as I was doing that, I was already deciding how it was going to be NEXT year! I do a themed 'color' tree, but am thinking of doing a 'regular' tree now... we shall see! I like the way you displayed your Santas... it looks great!! I surely know what you mean about seeing stuff out in blogland and pinterest etc... I tried a few new things this year... not so thrilled now. I hope to blog this week, so I will share. I am terribly behind the times, and could peek ahead to Carole's condition, but...suffice to say, I will keep her and your family in my prayers. Lots!! Big Hugs!
