Newly found

Hello people.  Hope all is well.  I've had to disinfect my car yesterday and today, taking Carole to doctors and testing.  She has a bug that comes with a relentless choking cough.  Double doses of a steroid pack preceded by a steroid injection.  Way too much for her and all her heart meds but they insisted.  Hopefully, something will help enough to allow her to lie down and get some sleep.

I had a lightweight down jacket on at the doc office.  No where did I see the wall mounted hand sanitizers, so while waiting for the doc to enter the room, I went to the sink and used the pump there. The spout was clogged with dried up gel and when I hit it, it shot up instead of down, all over the arm of my jacket.  We were moved to another room for a lung treatment and he popped back in just at the moment I was putting a tongue depressor in my purse.  They are perfect to put under that wobbly table.  Today at the clinic I rammed into the back of her wheelchair and shot her forward when I grabbed the handles to push her.  I forgot they are hand brakes now.  Then I came home to find my other laptop died, right before backup.  I wish I could afford a Mac.  Windows updates and IE upgrade caused the crash and I'm so tired of this I will not even try to work it out.

So here's what my brother found when going through some stored boxes.  I'm not sure if I will keep any, thought I would show them to you and maybe put a price on a few.  This first set is done on Aida from the early 80's, 7" pillow rounds, and mostly all filled in with stitches.  I will try to adjust the finishing because it's not what I would expect from a professional finisher.  The piping and back are the same Aida.

These are adorable standing Santas.  VERY nice finishing with burgundy velvet backs and piping.  The largest stands 12" the other two 8".

This little thing is unusual.  It is entirely filled with stitches and sewn into a stiff  ????  It's hollow, stands by itself, and wonky.  Red stitches are striped with metallic floss and trim is Wisper or another fuzz. Not sure if I will try to straighten out this one.

Another very large pillow on white Klostern with velvet back and piping.

A few pieces are needlepoint, but it took me a while to identify this design.  The wheels of this locomotive should have been darker and outlined.
So there you have it.   Not sure about prices yet, I'm not good at that.  What do you think?  I would post more photos of the items up for sale.  I also have my linen grab bag ready but with the computer issues, I lost the post.  Starting over.

Ta-ta folks!

Hi Marly,
Hope the meds help Carole, and I hope you don't get that bug!!! Those are such sweet pieces!! Could the one Santa possibly be a tree topper, or maybe even go over a bottle for a gift?
So sorry about your computer!!! Sometimes I just HATE technology, but then I am reminded of all the good things that come because of it!!! Hope you get things figured out!!!!
Take care and enjoy your week!
Heart Hugs~

Sorry to hear that Carole has that awful cough. Not good in more ways than one. I hope you don't get it.
I love the grouping of three Santas. Also the little boy on the rocking horse.
My son had a stomach virus over Christmas week. Not good either.
Stay well, warm and happy.

I hope that Carole can get some relief soon. She must be so weary from weeks of coughing all the time. Maybe carry your own hand sanitizer in your purse to avoid accidents and also to have it when you need it? Wow, those old stitched pieces are really nice. I love the the round ones of Victorian Christmas scenes and those Santas. I am so sorry to hear about your computer issues again. Are you sure it wouldn't be just more cost effective in the long run to get a Mac? Honestly, I quit having all those crazy issues when I got mine 4 years ago. It has been worth every dime.

Did you make all those pieces? They are beautiful. I would hold on to them and sell closer to Christmas time, when everyone is decorating. So beautiful. Minimun $20 per Santa.

Hope Carole gets relief and rest...and that the bug does not
light on you and yours. Put me down as an interested party
in your collection. Technology has become a necessity in
life, but avoiding the pitfalls sometimes takes extra research
and $$$. Hope those concerns can be eliminated by/for you.
You must be the hit of the Dr. visits... not funny ...but funny.

I hope Carole gets better. I've been dealing with a similar cough and throat clearing for two years. Seen every kind of doctor, had
Every test and tried multiple medications. Finally at a swallow test that doctor told me to drink water...which I never do. So I have water bottles sitting around and drink when I pass them. OMG......no more cough and throat clearing! Maybe she could try that if she's not a water drinker. Can't hurt. Happy New Year! Keep up the great posts.

I have a Dr appointment today and I'll make sure I check the pump before using.Lol! Did you make all of these? Amazing amount of work put into them. I remember some of these designs too. What a fun find. If I were to go through my storage boxes I'd be more likely to find unfinished projects that I messed up.I hope Carol improves
. It all sounds like torture for you both. I hope they can get this right in a hurry. Cyber hugs to you both.

Marly: Oh my what a day, I do hope Carol gets better soon, steroids are so hard on the body.
I am in love with all your finds, how lucky you are, I am thinking the hollow Santa is a bottle topper, I remember long ago about a bottle topper Santa.
I am so sorry you are having computer issues, it seems to be going on everywhere.
I have a Logitech cordless mouse, the curser on the screen moves on its own researched and found out this is common with Logitech.
Good luck on finding a new laptop.

Blessings

What lovely stitched items! Someone did a lot of work!
I had to laugh about the hand sanitizer--that sounds like something that would happen to me!
I hope your sister feels better soon!
My laptop is old but still works ok. I've thought about getting a new one, but I just don't think I can handle re-learning how to do things and transferring info, etc. That's pretty pitiful! I'm stuck in my old ways!!!
