Upset

Dear friends,

I ask you all to please, please, report these disgusting, vile, evil, photos on Facebook.  The most recent, which appeared on a stitcher's post, pictured two men with knives holding parts of a living Labrador chained at their feet.  I have been unable to think of anything else.  Why oh why would you post this and give these sick people more hits?  Report it to Facebook immediately and do not share the photo so others can try more horrendous acts to record on their fricking phones and get even more shares.  I heard that is exactly what happened.  Instead of just ears, the copycats did nose and ears.  This fills me with such hate that I actually want these people dead.  I know that is sick and I am upset with myself for such thoughts, but I am bombarded with these types of shared photos and I can't take it anymore.  It is truly affecting me.

I have once again changed what I plan to stitch next.  I have this Quaker Blackbird design on my needlebook and love it (even though I had to change it to fit since I cut the linen wrong).  I found the small piece of leftover linen and thought making my mini basket to match would be a nice set.  Using the midsection I will add the row (above the berries) beneath the berries making it a really good fit for the lid.  I reversed the chart so the bird will be on the right facing left.  For the round box I chose a circular quaker design and will use the same floss colors.

I was directed to a shop's site, The Strawberry Sampler, and so happy to see large photos of all the designers from Nashville.  If you'd like to check out the new items without having to click on a small photo and go back and forth, and see just about every design, click on the link.  A lot to take in, but it looks like you get "nash cash" if you purchase more than $25 of those items.  I need to take my time viewing the offers and reading their notes, just can't concentrate enough right now so I may have misunderstood.

Have a great weekend everyone.
Thanks for visiting.

I am so sorry that you have been subjected to those photos on Facebook. You can block those sites from getting through. I haven't seen them, nor do I ever want to. I am looking forward to seeing your new project. Thanks for the link to the Nashville pics.

I totally agree with you about people who would do such a thing to any animal .... but changing the subject..... strawberry sampler is a great shop. I don't know if you've found stitches n things or not but Deb has a great online store also. Love seeing what you are working on & how you go about changing things.

Oh, Marly, that's horrible! I'm so sorry you were assaulted by that photo. My immediate reaction is that people who would do something like that to an animal ought to be shot, but what they really deserve is to have something similar done to them.

Your little basket will look marvelous paired with your needlebook. And thanks for the link to the Strawberry Sampler - going to enjoy perusing all the Nashville goodies.

How dreadful! I don't understand how people can do that and I don't understand why FB condones it. I look forward to seeing your basket top come into being.

Yes I agree with you. They do it to make money because all the shares brings in advertising revenue I believe. Those people should be strung up. Yes I always report them. I understand. I have real trouble with images like that. I guess that's why I don't use FB much. Also you can block those people as well

Yes I agree and it's part of the reason I've been MIA on FB lately. Between the stories about abused children, abused animals and politics I just had to take a break. Some days stitching, chocolate and HGTV is all that gets me thru the day.

I have never seen such a horrible thing on Facebook....I'm so glad I haven't...just your description won't leave my mind...whoever does such evil things should be arrested and sent to prison for MANY years..no questions asked...maybe even lose a finger or two?! Cannot imagine why anyone would share such trash either!

As for the stitching, love the design also...concentrate on stitching...maybe stay away from Facebook (hate social media)...how about marathon Fixer Uppers and/or Jesse Stone stories! So enjoy your stitching and blog.

I'm with you Marly! I saw the same photo in the context of a petition and was disgusted. Tell me that someone had done something horrible to an animal and I will sign a petition urging prosecution or a tough sentence. I don't need photographic evidence of the crime!

On a lighter note, I LOVE that needle book.

I believe body parts of those people need to be taken off. And I do not feel bad bout it. Something has to stop them from hurting these animals before they move on to do further terribleness to other animals . And Mark Zuckerman should be held accountable for allowing this to be placed on Facebook. I used to read and sign list in protest but I can no longer look at that suffering. It is enough to know it happens and I cry and cry for those animals. But I do not feel bad about hating it and the people who do it. It might not really be hate we feel but the need to stop it and we shouldn't feel bad about that! In some cases I believe in an eye for an eye and this is one. If it could stop it then we have done right.

Wow how awful. I have never seen any of this. I have tried to limit my friends list and if I do add someone they have to be friends with someone I already have on my page. My friends are all stitchers , quilters, rug hooking. There will be a special place in hell for these abusers. Sorry you had to see that.

If you are scrolling through your news feed and see these shots, there is a button top right that you can hit. That is supposed to get you a menu whose first choice is "Hide post." That should remove the picture from your feed. You can also "unfollow" the sender, which is not quite as extreme as un-friending them, it just means that while they can go to your page and you can go to theirs, you'll not get their automatic day-wrecking feeds any more. Or you can go to their time line and "unfollow" them from the Following tab.
