The birds were back this morning and I wanted to show you the little ones. You can see how tiny they are compared to the larger brood. I am so nervous about Nitzy because he would definitely go after either one. The young were lounging on the cool dirt with their wings spread and mommas were roaming. NO!!! Nit could grab one in a split second if momma is not there to scare him off.
See the little blur in front of the juveniles, right front?
Little guy left front.

Did all of Carole's shopping again this morning and I have been flashing for two days. Continual. Going for testing this week because of kidney disease. I kept reading the benefits of green tea and my drink of choice for many years has been iced green tea. Who knew that drinking a lot of it could cause kidney disease, stones, failure. Black tea also. A glass or two a day certainly won't hurt you, but this was my only beverage throughout the year. No soda, no "pop". I have no other conditions that would cause these numbers and this is what she attributed it to, after my own research, yep it is.
Have a good day!

Oh Marly. I had no idea green tea in any form could be bad for you until now when you just said this. I googled it quick since Brian drinks lots every day. However, the concern is iced, like you said. He drinks hot green tea. I am praying for you and your sister.♥
What super turkey snaps!!! THANKS!!!!
I love turkeys!!! Wish we had some in the city :) the feathered kind that is...
Blessings, Patti
Great looking turkeys. Polly is looking really good. How will you finish her?
Cute little turkey babies....and parents! We used to live by a brook/wetlands and I always loved seeing the newborn ducks and geese come marching up into the yard!
Never would have thought green tea would cause issues like you have explained, but good info to have. Hope all is well with you, and that Carole is feeling well.
Love how Polly is coming along!
I had not heard any connection between tea (green or black) and kidney disease. It's always promoted as a healthy choice. Green tea especially has been proven to cut the risk of breast cancer. I hope it all checks out OK, Marly. And thanks again for showing the turkeys. They're so lovely.
Love your "wild kingdom". The babies are so cute......had never seen baby turkeys.
I love tea but don't drink that much anymore.......a cup for breakfast and maybe one for lunch. Didn't know that tea could do damage to the kidneys. Sorry that you're having troubles.
That Nitzy better not catch one of those babies. That would be so sad.
Take care.

And here I thought green tea was so good for you. I am more of a coffee drinker, that will be the next thing!! Such cute little turkeys!!! I hope Nitzy finds other things to catch. Polly is really looking pretty!!
Looks like you have two broods of turkeys; the eggs hatch together so chicks from the same nest should be about the same size. When I was a ranger, I had 2 hens rearing a whole bunch of chicks together that would come by regularly. I never was able to get a decent count chick count, they kept moving so. Come fall, when the babies were about the same size as their mammas, I opened my door one morning to find them all gathered around my Park Service vehicle, pecking the chrome, stretching up to peer over the hood, poking around underneath the thing - looked for all the world like they were thinking about buying it for a trip south. One of the most comical things I have ever seen in my life.
Hope the tests for kidney disease go well. I had no clue about the tea thing. :( Great pics of the turkeys! Hope they stay safe.
OMGosh Marly. I too drink iced decaf green tea + Crystalite lemonade all day, better know has an 'Arnold Palmer' drink. This has been for the last 3 years. That's all I need, as I am struggling to loose some weight. I have slightly elevated blood pressure and am borderline diabetic and I have a caboose just like my Polish Grandma's, Bless her heart. The caboose is not a health hazard but all the other stuff is. I will find out tomorrow how much I have lost since my first 3 week check up and that was 9 lbs then. Hoping to double that number tomorrow.
We enjoyed the wild turkeys when we lived in VT for 4 years. Now we have cute Desert Quails.
Polly is really taking shape and looking more wonderful than the time before, if that is possible.
Prayers for you and 'Sis'. I know you will keep us updated.
Peace and Blessings too,
Barb
My doctor has my chart labeled with kidney issues simply because I have taken Advil throughout my life. no symptoms, no issues, just 'an Advil user' puts me at 'risk'. sometimes I wonder if the doctors don't just make this stuff up............
Good luck with your kidney issues, keep us informed.
I loved the bird pics. The stitching is looking great. I have been a huge black tea drinker almost all of my life. I have been trying to drink less tea and more water, but I really miss my day long tea breaks. I hope you can get things under control.
Polly looks great. How fun to see the turkeys. We see them occasionally, but I've not seen any little ones. Hopefully Nitzy will stay away from them. I'm worried about my mom after reading your post. She drinks at least a quart of iced tea every day and has stage 4 kidney disease. She gives a complete and accurate list of what she drinks each day and her doctor has never told her not to drink tea. Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers.
Just love the turkey clan--they are so comical! We get them down this way now and then trying to eat the birdseed underneath the feeders :)
