When you don't see any posts from a blogger you follow for quite some time, do you email them? I am uncomfortable doing this and wonder how everyone feels about it. To me, checking on someone shows that you care and hope all is well, but since we are online and not personally involved in others' lives, I wonder how such a request is received. Dropping a line and saying you hope all is well seems innocent enough but I would still feel like an intruder. But are we? A note of caring is never wrong, but I'm not involved with social networking as much as most. I'm sure those that are, welcome more contact, but not everyone details their day to their world. There are other sites for interaction and updates that not everyone (moi) follows such as Instagram, Facebook, and others, so following a blog only isn't a good indication of activity. Add to the fact that the majority of Googlers are no-reply and there isn't even an email for saying hello! In conclusion to this weird commentary, just because I don't drop a line doesn't mean I don't think about others. I am forward enough to tongue lash in person but backward when social media is the means. In fact, Monday morning, all hell with break loose at the Diabetes Clinic. It will be my third trip to that office, and one they will wish never happened. I can't wait!
I am cleaning the house today, hitting Dominos for a fabulous extra sauce pizza later, and searching the files for a little bird this evening. I won't be posting those tasks or anything in between on FB. But Monday there may be video at 6 from a Clinic.
Happy St. Patrick's Day to those that celebrate the green!

Happy st. Patty's day to you to. Enjoy (said with laughter) your time at the clinic.
That poor Clinic!!! May you prevail.....
Have a good day and enjoy Domino's.
I love those birds, too, Marly and received one as a gift years ago. I think a quick, little bird finish is exactly what you need :)
Marley: You go girl, maybe we will hear the rath here in the north, giggles.
If you know the name of the BBD book let me know I have several of their books and would love to lend it to you.
Be cool when you first walk into the clinic them BAM give it to them.
Happy St. Patty’s Day

I have sent a short email to check on people I follow after a 2 week absence that wasn't normal.
I did get a kind response back.
Love the heart and birds.
Blessings
I too wonder about different bloggers and contact those that I can when I'm concerned...when you put yourself out there on a blog people care about you...mostly I've received replies...a few are never heard from again...love the birds and hearts too...can you do a video of Monday foe all your fans???
I love the look of those Tweet Hearts Marly. Not sure I could pull off a nice heart like that. Can't wait to see yours. I check on friends. ;)
I think if you want to email a note (and you have their email address) of concern and thinking of you, you should. I know I would appreciate the email from someone thinking of me. I look forward to seeing what you come up with for your bird heart. Good luck to you on Monday's visit to the clinic.
I can't help much with everything else but about bloggers I can tell that nobody (or so) cares. When I stopped posting, people (with whom I was in touch for a long time, like 15 years in some case) - After seeing this, I decided that people you meet on the web, no matter how close you get to them just don't care about you. It was hard, it was weird, but I just had to accept it. On my side, I was anxious for several people, and ended sending a simple "hope you are fine, I'm here if you want to keep in touch". Sometimes it was appreciated (greatly), sometimes people never answered (at least they knew I was caring) and for one I even discovered (much later) it was all fake (whatever she said, for years) so she surely prefered not to answer, suspecting I discovered the lies.... I never make it through the big revolution of "instant" things like tweeter, mostly because I like reading, writing, sharing thoughts that can't match a "2 lines messages". I guess I'm too "old fashion" for this all. I feel like a dinosaur, with thoughts and ideas from a very far (and dead) past... By the way on another subject, I rarely comment as writing in a foreign language is not really easy for me, but I'm taking advantage on this message to tell you that I just love reading your blog, I wish there were still more like yours, there's always something interesting to read, laughs, emotions, ideas... and so I want to thank you for sharing it all with us
arggggh a part of the begining of my message, I was saying "people (with whom I was in touch for a long time) just didn't care, some did not notice before 4 or 5 years (!) and some knowing I was facing hard time just vanished (one even said she stopped emailing because she knew I can no more send things for all occasions)... hard but cash. At least"
Those birds are indeed delightful, but I certainly understand your not wanting to buy a large book when you want only a small bit (and I'm very glad that BBD releases lots of their new designs individually). Considering what you've created, of course you could design a handful of bird hearts!
About dropping a line to someone who has disappeared, I find that difficult if I don't feel at least somewhat "close" to the person. There's one blogger I'm concerned about - she used to post every couple of days, stitched like mad but disappeared maybe six months ago (blog is still there). But since she hardly ever responded to my comments, I feel like my concern would be seen as intrusive. On the other hand, if it was someone who regularly responded to my comments and also commented on my blog, I'd more than likely reach out. Not sure that was very helpful....
I don't see any difference between e-mailing a person or sending them a note. If I don't hear from a friend for a while, I drop them a note or a card. I don't see it as an intrusion and I don't think anyone else does, either. Good luck at the clinic.
I don't think an email would be an imposition, especially when a blogger invites "email me." I see it as showing the e-friendship we have with bloggers we follow. I went back to see The Cranky Crow blog, which I also followed. The last post was 2-21-17, titled "A Marly Kind of Day." I'd say it would certainly be reasonable for you to email a caring note. That kindness may be exactly what The Cranky Crow needs. ...jan
Good luck and prayers, Marly! I love those bird hearts..they are adorable. I'm a blogger that's been MIA. So many things going on right now. I did have a couple of people email me, to see if I was still among the living and I thought that it was very, very nice.
Love those heart -birds but I am a heart lover and there are several hanging all around in my home.
When you have contact with a blogger I don't think it is rare to send a mail and ask if all is well.
Good luck on monday in the clinic.
Have a great day 🌷
Greetings Truus from Holland
I would certainly e-mail you if you didn't post something for several days.
Love the little bird hearts. Am getting in the mood to so some stitching. Don't know what it will be next. Could do a small one for a birthday gift.
We celebrated here with ice cream and cake for my daughter's birthday, yesterday, Sat.
Oh, and pizza. Never thought about the extra sauce....would rather have that than the cheese and more pineapple. We had Domino's.
Waiting to see if we get the snow that is predicted for Tues.and Wed. What's up with that.........that's the first day of Spring. UGH.

I do send a comment to a favorite blogger when there hasn't been a post for longer than they usually post. Just let the person know I've been thinking of them and hope all is OK. I Think most folks are pleased to know there are kind thoughts coming their way. Give in to that impulse! BTW - I would also love to know which BBD book has those sweet little birds
I'm sitting right beside you when it comes to "only blogging". Sometimes I don't even have time to post on my blog... I'd never sleep if I was facebook-ing, tweeting and instagramming too! lol!
I'm going to chime in and say my thoughts are that if a blogger regularly answers back your comments when you comment on their blog...then it's ok to send a "what's up" note to them...also...if they have their email in their profile, that shows that they are open to general emails (without them having to post first). Just some thoughts....cuz you asked... ;-)
Oh.....and LOVE Blackbird Designs!!! I should make more time for cross stitching too...
Oh my, thanks for then mention! Draw a little heart on your fabric in heat erase pen and stitch a little part of one of your lovely samplers inside the lines, cut it out and sew it up. Just don’t iron until you’re done with the line!
