Soggy shoes

Hope your Christmas was special.  All went as planned here, but my sister is very pale and not looking well at all.  Even though she has not done any shopping or meals, she is very tired, but her tests are all normal.  We'll be getting together at her house Saturday when her great grands come and tear apart the house.  She will do anything when they are involved, whether it's advisable or not.

I do like the baskets with burlap ribbon and will hopefully remember this next year. I wonder if wrapping a strip around the galvanized pieces would look odd.  Since there are four large ones, I'm thinking it would.

If you look closely, you will see a pair of moccasins outside the door.  They weren't a part of the plan, but Bud decided to let loose an entire day's worth of wetness at our front door.  Inside.  For some reason, litter boxes are not his thing and I can't trust him since he roams.  Mark is not happy about his shoes!

With hardwood floors and no way to prevent urine from seeping between boards, we really need to develop a plan.

Meanwhile, they enjoyed their Christmas.  Three brat cats.  I carefully touched Missy, and picked up Nitzy for a minute.  She flinched and pulled back, he looked like I was close to losing an eye.  Flea meds today if it rains, otherwise they won't come in.

And I found the biggest bags EVER at the $ store.  They're huge!  So much easier to transport the kids' gifts.  I used to wrap but really, do they care?  Nope.  Just get to the gift as soon as possible.  I bought several for next year since they are the only I've seen this size.  There's three pair of boots in boxes, a pair of jeans, and pajama pants in this bag!  I sure do miss all the stores that closed locally, really limited options now.

So relieved the headache is gone. I plan to relax and do a little shopping this week.  Maybe I will get back to the sampler I started.  Where the hell is it?

Thanks for visiting!

I love the simplicity and understated elegance of the greenery in the buckets. the look matches your home perfectly. the red ribbon adds pop if used sparingly. Glad you hear your headache is gone!

Marly, I'm so happy to hear the headaches are gone. I thought your decorations were wonderful this year. The photos were striking of the natural greenery in the buckets and baskets, the red ribbons around the baskets, and your house color set it all off. I would definitely remember it for next year. So simple but so perfect. Enjoy your shopping trip. Take care, SAH

The simplicity of your decorations epitomize Christmas to me. Lovely! I have a brat cat too that thinks letterboxes are beneath him! He's been to the vet to see if there is any health issue that precludes him from being a totally domesticated cat and no, there's no problem. So I am using training pads like you can get for puppies! I lay them in his favorite places. Putting on a safety collar with a bell(s) help me track him too. Those headaches are horrible. Glad that you are back to semi-normal. Go stitch!

Marly: I was happy to see your headache went away, I am still giggling about the where the hell is the Sampler comment, you have a great sense of humor.
I think you should try just once to see what the burlap would look like, you decorations are lovely.
I am not sure I would let my cat urinate in my home, I just hate that smell, but knowing your heart you just could not let them stay outdoors forever, you seem to be a gentle soul.
I am so sorry to hear Carole is not looking good, I hope she can find out what is going on.
I have seen the big humongous bags here in Minnesota, you can put a child in there.

Merry Christmas
Catherine

I love your decorating style, simplistic beauty. I have trouble remembering how I decorated my home from one year to the next, especially if I rearrange furniture or acquire something new, so I began to take pictures and download them on my computer labeled "House Decor". I have separate folders for Christmas, Jan/Feb,Easter, Spring, July 4, Summer, Fall, then Halloween and Thanksgiving. I also label the year. I can review on the computer the decorations I used, where I placed them, which were my favorite, etc. and it gives me a good game plan and saves alot of time when I have a table full of decorations to find places for! Have a good week, glad you`re feeling better.

Hope Carole will be feeling better soon and she will have no healthproblems again.
Love your decorations and happy to see I'm not the only fool woman with blankets on the sofa to protect against the cat hair.
Have a great day

Your Christmas greenery and red bows are perfect for your home. Don't think the burlap would be quite as festive.
Prayers for you and Carole every night ! I hope she'll be able to "perk" up for this weekend.
We have two litter pans......maybe you need three. Pippa (girl kitty) sprays, Sheldon (boy kitty) squats. What's up with that ? Our pans have tall sides one them.........thank goodness !
Your fur babies sure do have a lovely home to relax in. Bless your heart !
Thinking of you !
Hugs,

Hi Marly,
So happy your headache is finally gone!! So miserable when you have one!!!
LOVE your porch and I actually think red ribbons around the galvanized containers would be just beautiful!! Love it on the basket!!
So sorry about Mark's shoes and wonder if filling them with cat litter would take out the smell?
Hope Carole is on the mend and the excitement wasn't too much for her!!
Take care and have a great week!
Heart Hugs~
