Hi folks. I am not a frequent Facebook visitor, but yesterday showed me that I should not be at all. Once again, someone that I follow from a stitching group posted a horrific photo from an animal torture site of a bound and defenseless puppy, not going into details. It seems they all come from a country know for being disgusting human beings when it comes to dogs and cats. May they all receive the same acts to them as they burn in hell. Don't you realize you are fueling their audience which in turn creates more videos? And shows repulsive people new ways to torture? Stop it.
I sealed and completed a few tags and tried them on the 3' tree. I do think mixing the tags with other ornaments would be best. But a light bulb went off. Wouldn't it be sweet to have a family tree? Between old photos and the thousands on phones, they could be edited for size, scanned for printing, or copies made from actual photos and reduced in size if necessary. I taped a bunch to a sheet of paper and made a copy at Staples so I could make notes, an easy way to keep the originals safe. I think my mom would have loved to have a little tree like that, she enjoyed going through old photos. What a special gift for those with only memories of the past. Just a thought!
If you want to try this, make sure you spray the printed papers with Krylon 1311 matte sealer before gluing or applying a permanent finish. I don't use Modge Podge, not sure if that would work as well as the Krylon to prevent ink from smearing.
Have a great weekend!

Oh, Marly! I love the idea of creating a family tree out of your pretty tags--go for it!!
I don't visit FB as much as I used to since it's a political hotbed and I want to visit my groups to be inspired which are supposed to be neutral sites. What a shame that someone would post a deplorable photo-was the administrator(s) notified so they could block that person? Lovely tags
Marly: I do not do facebook myself, facebook needs to police their company and what people are posting, there needs to be limits.
I do like the tags you made, what a great idea to have a family tree, I love the idea.
Have a lovely Thanksgiving

I've reported pic sod animal abuse to Facebook several times.
Their response is...............it isn't going against Facebook community standards!
Something is definitely wrong with Facebook!
Marilyn
I love you idea of a family photo tree. May do that next year.
My family and I have seen pictures on TV about animal abuse, we change the channel.
There are some very deranged people out there to torture animals. I hate to even think about it. It's sad and sick.
There are a couple decorating groups that I'm in that I enjoy. I see so many beautifully decorated homes. I think that's one reason that I've had trouble getting started on my own decorating.

Love the tree. Now I must say to everyone who will listen, when it comes to animal cruelty this. I believe the punishment should fit the crime, whatever you do to the animal should be done to you.! Exactly!!!!! I am shouting this too.
I don't do Facebook. I have an account there, only because otherwise instagram doesn't know where I live. ( hate Facebook. Period. The tags are wonderful!
I love the idea of a family tree, but I'm sure that isn't going to happen!
Love your tags and the idea to hang these with family photo's in the Christmastree!
Have a great day

Marly, you gave me a great idea for next year! Too late this year since my packages are already on the way 'home' but I would definitely love to make a family tree for my mom.
I have a Facebook account because my sister uses messenger to send photos of the family. I've seen too much on there that I didn't want to see. I don't want to turn my back on the horrible things that go on in this world but I can't sleep at night.
I have been a member in a FB stitching group but people are not always who they say they are. I 'gifted' an out of print Blackbird Designs booklet to someone that was looking for it only to find it on eBay to sell for a hundred dollars. It had a mark on it so I knew it was mine. People have no morals these days.
Love the tags and the family photo tags are a great idea.
The tags look so good on that tree. I just will never stitch enough Santas for a tree, maybe your tags are my answer. I think Facebook can be a mine of ugly things. I try to be very selective what I look at, mostly people I know(who at times post ugly things) and stitchers!
I love the tags on the tree! My father-in-law had a stroke many years ago and the one thing that has helped him is photos of people and pets. We have photos in places so he can see them every day. He names the person or pet and that helps him with his speech and memory, both of which were affected by the stroke. Your idea to use family photos on the tree is great and I think it would be a fun way to help my father-in-law too.
Sorry that you had to see another awful post on facebook. It's really disgusting that some people think it's ok to post or share such things.
