Same as last year and I like the simplicity. Red burlap ribbon.
Ran out to do a little grocery (more like cat food) shopping and stopped to pick up an in store order at Kohl's. I was concerned that if I get what hubby has, I won't be able to stock the shelves. Then I remembered I have another doc appt tomorrow and have to go out anyway! I didn't cut Carole's hair for her, and it's probably a good idea that she not come into our house right now.
Hope your weekend wasn't too hectic! Two weeks left! What kind of cookies do you bake, what is your favorite holiday treat?

I like your simplicity theme. I spent yesterday pondering our decorations, and put a bit more in the thrift pile. Now to get it there sooner than later. I still need to put the tree up, maybe today. Or not.
I gave up the cookie baking years ago after I was spending entire weekends with no help doing it. And now, I don't need the temptation around the house.
I said I was doing simple...and I"m really trying!! But the more simple I get, the more work it is!! Your home looks beautiful, as always Marly!!
I love the simplicity. I gave up cookie baking years ago too. I buy stuff, the only item I bake is a squash pie ( husband thinks pumpkin and squash taste differently) hahaha.
The simplicity of your decorating is so calming, Marly! I seem to be doing less decorating each year--don't even have my tree up yet :(
I actually bake very little at Christmas time as I bake a lot at Thanksgiving and set aside half in the freezer for Christmas. Although we ate a ton of my baked goods this year so I may be doing a bit more. Luckily, I love to bake!
looks as though most of us are shooting for simplicity and ease in decorating this year. Marly, your home is the epitome of simple elegance...so serene. We accumulate
so much over the years with each passing theme we simply "must have", only to discover that the basics with which we started were the best ending, after all.
LOVE the simplicity of your decorating :)
Simply beautiful & peacefully merry! :-)
Cookie list goes something like this... chocolate crinkles, peanut butter (classic betty crocker recipe), wedding cakes (snowballs), walnut rushki and one batch of a new recipe. I think this years new recipe will be ginger crinkles. Probably starts some baking this weekend...
Your decorations are simple and lovely.
Cookies....I used to bake so many different kinds. Now I just make gingerbread men-one for each family member and triple ginger cookies or my regular ginger cookies.
Although my sister-in-law gave me a great recipe last year for Sparkling Cranberries. They’re basically fresh cranberries soaked in a simple syrup and then the next day they’re tossed in granulated sugar. The taste is tart and sweet ... and they pop when you bite them.
I love the way your home looks! I don't bake any cookies. It is only my DH and our daughter. She does not eat sugar so I would gain at least 10 pounds over the holiday and according to my Dr. I need to be loosing not gaining!
