I stress, therefore I shop

This is all coming out of Bud's allowance.

Six little aged pewter cups and a sweet old box with beautiful blue paint.

An old tall barstool for outside display, will probably be moved inside.

An out of round nicely turned old bowl with wide lip, traces of yellow paint,
 and BIG.

And of course.....
Bud is meowing a bit - never did before, and trying to bury or cover food and water.  He's starting to shy away from me because he hates having the liquid meds put in and a lot is being spit out regardless of cheek pouch, corner of mouth, back of throat, head tilted, or on the side position.  I had no trouble at all getting my donut down.
I'm closing in on Barbara's finish!
Another pear giveaway coming up.

Have a great weekend - thanks for your kind words and your visit.

The love of a good woman

Guess who's making a comeback?
After his girlfriend came in and stayed by his side,
looking like she was praying over him,
and spent the night with him,
this morning he is alert, eating a little, and obviously feeling better.
Thanks to everyone for your concern and well wishes!
The worst is over.

Update on Bud

Hi everyone.  Thanks so much for your concern over the Budman's health.  I also want to mention that the comments are closed because I'm taking a little break.  I don't have time to reply to everyone and I know there are many bloggers that don't which is certainly acceptable.  But there are other issues ~  many comments were not being emailed to me, some were sent to junk mail.  I thought it best to close them while I'm hit-and-miss posting.  You can email me any time from the top right link.

Bud is slightly better today, but not much.  Still no food intake but he did have some water.  His body feels much cooler.  I lift him out of his box to get him to move around a little but he just stays where I put him.  He'll be going back to the vet on Friday.  I was really expecting him to be much better today.
These are the large irises that the rain knocked down.  They're from my FIL's house and I'm glad I took them before the sale.  I was unable to remove an enormous peony that had flowers the size of dinner plates.  We went back early spring to ask if we could have a share and they had dozed the floral hedges for more parking.  The irises aren't spreading and I need to find a better spot for them since I only have about eight plants.  They are huge with three to four blooms on each stem.  The older I get the less I enjoy gardening, weeding, maintenance.  But I will always want my peonies, irises, and maybe those bright yellow evening primrose.

Walgreen's has Dove on sale and I just ate a half bag of almond dark chocolate while I typed this.  Shame on me.
Enjoy your day!

Budman

Good morning.  Mr. Bud's fever was close to 106 which is pretty high.  I could tell when I picked him out of the ivy that his body was very warm. Nitzy and Missy stayed by him all morning which is unusual so I knew it was serious.  Average normal for a cat is 101.5 and fevers slow the growth of bacteria and stimulate the immune system, but this high is not good.   He's very listless and dehydrated, not having fluids or food for two days.  Doc (who is in his 80's) gave him 2 injections and liquid meds.  Needless to mention, Bud does not like the taste, and wants to go outside.  I'm keeping him in until there is improvement and water intake.  I let Missy come in to keep him company when we came home and she jumped the barrier and took off upstairs.  I had to let her out a different door so Bud wouldn't escape and carried her to it.  She tore up my left wrist and palm AND ripped a hole in my new shirt!!  There isn't enough skin at her scruff to hold so she is a terror when handled.
This morning, no change. He still feels very warm.  Nitzy is in here with him but Bud doesn't seem to care.  I'm hoping sure the antibiotics will kick in by this evening and tomorrow he will start taking water and food.  At least that's what the vet said.  Most around here don't want to treat feral cats so I'm very grateful to his office.  After looking up the medication, it doesn't seem to be correct for a respiratory infection (he heard rattling in the lungs) but we don't have a choice.
No errands today and certainly no painting.  Bud's hair is floating everywhere and also stuck to my sweaty flashing body.
We are Labrador and Retriever folks, never considered having felines, but Mark has developed a bond with his Budman. Thanks for your concern and well wishes - I'll post when there's improvement.
I've decided to spend more than her car is worth and have sis's car fixed.  We can't be rushed into making a decision on our new car especially when the models we are interested in are a 40 minute drive from here so she will have to wait for Mark's.  It may be stupid and a waste of money, but I have to start clearing my plate of things that need done.  She saw my chiropractor yesterday because of neck problems from the accident, and when he dropped the bottom half of the table to stretch her back, her rib broke.  I think I'm baking dark chocolate cupcakes with whipped cream frosting today.

Hope your day is just as sweet.

The Budman is sick

Yes I'm taking a break from blogging - just a few snaps and tidbits now and then.
My Bud who never leaves the back deck was missing yesterday.  This morning he was in his condo but wouldn't eat or drink.  Then - gone.  I found him lying in the woods (in poison ivy of course) and brought him into the house.  He fought a little but I was able to carry him.  We're borrowing a carrier and taking him to a vet later and they are OK with him being on the wild side.  I know the neighbors didn't have anything to do with this because he is not the roamer like the other two and they are fine.  The fusspots will only eat certain expensive brands of food so I know they wouldn't go for the poison they have been putting out for "filthy critters".  He'll probably get an antibiotic shot and pills which will be a joy to shove down his throat.

Here's Barbara progress from my stiff sanding hand.  Her name is over one and once that is completed, only two more lines and the border.

Later.
