What a difference a day makes

Greetings!  I just wanted to tell you something that is a little different.  I'm in a good mood.  Really.  The tech never showed or called, my computer is gone, no recovery yet, but I did make an apple pie and eat half of it last night.  That's when the euphoria started.  I'm sure the pie wasn't the reason and I'm assuming it's just the other side of the menopausal mountain.  Maybe looking at things in another light helps too.  For instance - my loss of all emails, contacts, files, and photos is something that a few generals and the CIA would have given anything for.  Yet it happened to little ole me instead of a few powerful men!  It's all in the way we view events.  So I'm sharing my good mood with you in a little offering.
These are 66 five meter skeins of YLI silk floss, a few opened, but the majority are not.  I rarely stitch over one or on higher linen counts and won't ever use these.  Not a popular brand, but they are very old and maybe not even available.  Regardless, if you're interested, please leave a comment on this post only, and I will receive them through Mr. Smarty Pants 7.  I plan on giving it a week and then either upgrading to 8 or downgrading to Vista.  Changing the font's size for viewing in Control Panel's Display didn't seem to help with internet sites.  I found a little trick online that helps a great deal.  Hitting the control button along with the + will enlarge the page I'm viewing and using control with - will reduce it.  There's already chocolate smears on the control key so it must be getting a lot of use.   I haven't been stitching since I've been fiddling with the laptops but hope to this evening. The sun is shining, I have half of a pie, a bag of chocolates, and a lot of work to do on labels.  A lot.  But work is good for the soul and being able to do it is a blessing.
Please leave a comment ONLY if you are interested in the floss.  A name will be drawn in one week on Friday the 23rd at 8pm.  Thanks for visiting!

Wonderful, Marly.....I love stitchng with silk so would also
like my name thrown in the hopper....and if I don't win, I
do hope it goes to a stitcher who's never used silk....it would
be a great opportunity to do so!

Half a pie & a bag of chocolate goes a long way in making everything better : ) Please do include me in the drawing for the silk floss. I used this stuff years ago for my tatting & it was gorgeous!

I was laughing so hard Santa himself would have been jealous. I read your comments to hubby and he said I like her even though you have spent big bucks after following her blog! I am so encouraged by you. My heart fell though at your computer tech guy not showing up....I love, love, love this blog. You help me to stop being so serious about stitching which utterly paralyzed me before. Afraid of making a mistake, so I would just drool over the patterns but not pick up the Needle! Another sweet gal named Betty has sent me technical and great advice so between the two of you I am beginning!

Hi Marly! If you can believe it, I have never stitched with silk. So why not start huh? Thank you for the chance Marly, take care.

I'd love a chance to win that floss!

Earlier this week, I had a pint of Haagen Daz for dinner - a whole pint! Of course, I felt incredibly bad about it afterward. Maybe that's because I've only just started the menopause climb. Your post gives me hope that maybe I'll end up in a good place emotionally, eventually. :)

Just a suggestion........lok into using Carbonite to automatically backup everything you put on your computer. The yearly fee isn't much at all when considering what you lost. I started using it when my tower computer lost everything. Love reading your blog. MJ

Don't feel guilty about the pie, I started eating a bag of Reese's chips before the mister could make the cookies last night.
I blame that on menopause (why not?). I'm pretty happy after that myself!
Hugs to you,
Susan

It would love to win you floss stash. I have used this in the past and love it.
I haven't used windows 8 but I do have Vista on a desk top computer. Don't go there with Vista. I can't explain it but if I knew that the computer had Vista on it I wouldn't have purchased it. Needless to say I use my laptop with Windows now and not the Vista desktop computer.

Marly, so glad things seem brighter for you! I actually like the new font look. The pie and chocolate must be doing something on this end of the blog too. Hmmmm.....

My collection of silk is only getting smaller, so you giveaway is a great thing for me. Please toss my name in the generator and I/ll hope it comes back a winner!

Yum, apple pie! Bummer..computer problems. And why is it service people (good service people) are hard to find--not to mention to show up! A guy in my work IT dept got everything back when my co-worker's laptop crashed..so hope you can too.

Would love to be in the drawing for the silk. Thanks for the generous opportunity.

Hope you have 1/2 pumpkin pie with loads of whip cream this week!!
